Stayed in the Ibis mariahilf for a short break in Vienna. Location wise it's great- 5 minutes walk to Westbanhoff station and not much further on is the main shopping street mariahilfer straße. I'd planned to use the Ubahn or tram mostly but ended up walking to the majority of places purely because of the hotels location. But it was good to have the option with a main station so close by. Hotel itself was ideal; warm, clean and had a great view which was a bonus. I would definitely recommend this hotel and I would stay here again if I visited Vienna again.

The hotel itself gives what it offers, however they have decided not to heat the whole hotel in the beginning of December. All of us got a good flu after trip, thanks to the 16-18 celsius in the rooms. For 149 EUR/night i think we can expect - at least - some room temperature in winter.

I recently visited Vienna and stayed at the Ibis Hotel. The location is excellent being close to the main underground and bus terminus, in fact it was a short 5 minute walk to reach the Ibis. The hotel is disability friendly and surrounding streets are very flat.

On arrival, the receptionist greeted us with a big smile and a warm welcome. We were treated with courtesy, friendliness and provided with concise directions to our room. The hotel is very well presented with a modern reception area with a rather pleasant bar area that provided refuge after a tiring day visiting the many museums and attractions.

Our room was nicely presented with very clean lines. The room was comprehensively appointed and fulfilled our expectations. There is no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. That was no hardship as there are many cafes/ coffee shops nearby. Housekeeping staff worked hard to maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout our stay.

The breakfast room was very well stocked with all tastes being accommodated. The choice of breakfast foods is too great to list here, however suffice to say I was very impressed. The dining experience was very relaxed and the attention to detail from the waiting staff commendable.

The location of the hotel was superb, being very near to the main shopping area and provided opportunities to peruse the stores without t to much difficulty. The location also provided a great location to walk and explore the museum area of Vienna without resorting to using transport.

If time is short? A great way the see most of the attractions is using the Big Bus Tour. You can either buy a single day ticket or a multi day ticket. Both routes are incredibly interesting and the commentary most informative.

Please visit the nacht market located near the technical college. There was a nice, friendly atmosphere and felt very safe for tourists. The eateries here are quirky and also classy its your choice. Try the hot Orange, Mint and Lime infusion, it's delightful.

The jet train from the airport is the quickest way to get into Liebestraum then change to the U3 to Westbahnhof. The transfer from the airport took 30 minutes at peak time. Very efficient public transport.

Although in the IBIS chain and thus sharing the same concept as any other IBIS hotel I have been to, this one seem to be older one. It is big (11 floors if I remember correctly) and quite crowded. Getting up or down by elevator can be quite a challenge, in particular if you are in a hurry.

The room was OK. Wi-fi was of good strength and for free.

Since the hotel is the biggest IBIS I have been too, breakfast offer was by far the biggest. Something for everyone.

The location is excellent if you wish to head the main Mariahilfer strasse for a walk, coffee or shopping.
