We visited Il Terrazzino on Friday September the 1st. We had made reservations to sit on the terrace (which is really a lovely, sunny room off the dining room) and thank goodness we did. There were reserved signs on almost every table and within a half hour the restaurant was full.
The room is colorful and the service was very good. My husband and I split the antipasto Due (two) and it had the most beautiful bruschetta with tomatoes that were the ripest that we had seen all over Europe and it came with sliced tomatoes, the freshest mozzarella and basil. It was delicious.
We followed that with the 3 pasta plate. This included homemade ravioli, a seafood spaghetti and homemade gnocchi. We asked if they would substitute the gnocchi for the pasta of the day which was another homemade pasta with fresh ricotta.
We were expecting one plate each with 3 pastas on it.......but no they brought one plate after the other for 3 abundant dishes of pasta each. Each one was excellent. Their made in house ravioli were spectacular. After all this fabulous food we could not even think of dessert, but had some excellent espresso.
The prices were very moderate for Monte Carlo and most of the diners seemed to be local French business people. There was only one other couple of tourists and that made us sure it would be good.
The waiters were very friendly and came by often to see if we had enough wine, etc. When it came time for the bill, we received someone else's and inside the receipt folder was a lot of cash. We called the manager/owner (?) over and thanked him for paying us to eat at his excellent restaurant. We all had a good laugh.
We would recommend this Il Terrazzino most highly. Great food, abundant portions. lovely setting, nice people and good prices. BUT BE SURE TO MAKE A RESERVATION.
Thank you again to everyone at Il Terrazzino.
