Really ideally situated resort. Beautiful, well kept, clean and friendly site. Plenty to do for every age. Good meals. Best member of staff is Egle! She is in the dining room, but if you have any problem, find Egle and she will sort it out!

Room Tip: We had room 027, ideally situated for an older couple with no children!

Once I was acclimatised, I really appreciated the look of the Azia, the rooms and facilities and the extensive grounds. All the staff I had dealings with were friendly, helpful and efficient BUT .......! The big problem for me was the food. Although I had emphasised to the travel agent when I booked that I was vegan, there was very little for me to eat. I had a number of discussions with waiters, chefs, serving staff and with Ionna, but things did not improve and the picnic I received one day was a joke?

The main difficulty seemed to be that although a large notice was displayed of various allergy symbols, no-one knew the difference between vegan and vegetarian. Also labels were often missing or wrong.

Other more minor problems; information provided in the folder in the room or elsewhere was often inaccurate - ie, the beach information as previously mentioned and the hotel shop information; there are no newspapers. I agree with previous reviewer that the adult pool is a wasted opportunity - much too small, shaded and totally overlooked by hotel rooms.

The terrace outside the Cava bar was a lovely place for a drink at sunset, but I was very surprised that there was NO space for non-smokers.

Altogether, I really enjoyed my holiday, but it could easily have been even better. The location of the hotel was ideal and we made the most of our two weeks. Also, apart from a storm on the first day, (the first rain since May we were told), the weather was glorious.
We made use of the bus service to Coral Bay and Paphos, walked to Lemba and took a jeep trip to the Troodos mountains.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms are lovely

We went to Azia Resort & Spa for 2 weeks last oktober and had a really great time. I don't know where to start writing this review... We were and are still really excited! Our room was beautiful and clean and the hotel itself looked good. The hotel is situated 6 km's from Paphos, which you can reach easily by bus or taxi. There are also a few good restaurants near the hotel, but you really don't need to visit them, because the food in the hotel is very good! There is more than enough variety in food and everything just tastes very good! If you don't like the food here, well... then you won't like it anywhere. The hotel has a beautiful pool, with poolbar and a lot of sunbeds, which are also on the lawn and on the small beach (the staff even serves your drinks over there!) were you can relax. There are even several places that are adults only, incluiding a seperate pool, which is great for the people who come to relax and enjoy their peace. At diner there's also an adults only side and the bar is also adults only. From the hotel it's just a little walk to the right or left, to get to a beach, where you can swim in the sea (mind the rocks in the water)! At Ammos Beach you can quit easily get into the water and enjoy a swim. The hotel has got a lot of facilities: there's an inside swimmingpool, a spa/beautysalon and a sportschool. The hotel also has 4 à la carte restaurants. We only visited the Oku restaurant (Azian food), which was really great. They have also a nightservice :) which means they bring you new towels in the evening if you wish, close your curtains, put on some light in your room and leave you some chocolats, every night! I can go on and on about this hotel... but the best thing of al was the management and the staff of the hotel! So kind, so nice... never experienced this before in any other hotel. From the ladies who bring you to your seats at diner, to the waiters, from the ladies and gents at the reception to the staff at the bar, everybody was so nice to us! The management does everything to make you feel welcome and happy. They sometimes come over and ask you how you feel and if they can do anything for you. Especially Miss Ioanna, the Guest Relation Manager, is very nice and makes a talk once in a while to see if you're still satisfied. She also arranged a bottle of champagne in our room on my birthday! First hotel ever to do that! We spend our evenings in the bar and the staff over there works really hard to serve everyone as soon as possible and they always have a smile for you. We had some great nights over there, thanks to the staff and the entertainment at night (especially the lady who performs as Adele). So... our special thanks go out to Milena (the barmanager) who looked very good after us and even made some special cocktails for us ;) , to Daniel, David, Alex and Alex and the lovely Brigitta, who all made our stay memorable!!! Thanks for a great time!

Room Tip: The bungalows apart from the hotel are really nice and modern. They are also a little quieter than the rooms near the bar and swimmingpool.

We recently stayed at the Azia Resort & Spa in Paphos, Cyprus and would definitely not return here. If you are a young couple, this is definitely not the place for you. We thought that as it was listed as a 5 Star Resort we would be guaranteed at least 4 star luxury ... wrong. Where do I start? We arrived around 2pm and were told to go to the bar and wait for our room to be ready, well it would have been helpful if someone had even directed us towards the bar. We had to carry our own bags to our room. We paid extra for a sea view room that was on the 4th floor and was full of ants. There were even ants in our bed. We weren't allowed to use the fridge to put anything in unless we paid an extra 3 Euros a day, they had padlocked it. The bathroom flooded everytime we used the shower. We weren't shown around the resort at all. The buffet food was lukewarm at a push. The indoor pool had cockroaches and ants around the poolside. If you want a sunbed anywhere near the outside pool then you need to reserve a sunbed with your towel around 8am each day. If not, you will be pushed to the sunbeds on the grass which is again full of ants and muddy. There was a dead cat outside the hotel for the duration of our stay. The air conditioning in our room was akin to an asthmatic with a collapsed lung puffing through a straw. The staff were rude and unhelpful. We paid £1400 for a 5 night stay here and would have expected a bit more!

We stayed here for a week 10-17 October on half-board basis. Hotel is located about half way between Paphos and Coral Bay, with frequent bus service between the two (bus stop within a few yards of the hotel). There is an English type bar/restaurant, small supermarket, ATM and a Cypriot restaurant next to the hotel.

The hotel lobby and reception areas are beautiful, well-designed and stylishly furnished, airy and bright with central atrium and lots of greenery. We were upgraded to a Premium Junior Suite (Room 445) which was on the top floor, overlooking the wedding chapel. Our room was spacious and very clean, with plenty of storage and a spacious balcony with table, chairs, sun loungers and parasol. Sadly, at this time of year, with the sun low in the sky, we didn't get any direct sun on the balcony but this wouldn't be the case during the summer months. There was a huge planter on the balcony with what I'm sure would have been lovely flowers had they not died through lack of watering. There was a nightly 'turn-down' service with chocolates and a check to see if all was ok and if we needed anything. Suggestion: It would be useful to have a full length mirror in the room and a few more coat hangers.

Restaurants & bars:
We ate in the Katoi Restaurant most days which was buffet style and was superb, with so much choice, beautifully cooked and presented and with a different theme each evening. If you didn't like the particular theme, there were numerous alternatives. We could not fault it. The staff in the Katoi restaurant were wonderful - always polite, smiling and welcoming. In particular, we have to mention Demetra who stood out above everyone. She was the epitome of customer service at its absolute best and she is a credit to the hotel. Please pass on our thanks to her - she would be one of the main reasons for us to return.
We ate in the Italian restaurant one evening and were slightly disappointed. I ordered the pork escalope and found it to be quite tough although the sauce it was cooked in was delicious. It would not stop me trying the restaurant again. Had we been staying for 2 weeks, I'm sure we would have tried the other restaurants.

We spent our evenings in the Cava bar which had entertainment every night. The bar is designed with a Moorish theme and is very comfortable and inviting. It has a large terrace, perfect for those balmy evenings. Staff were very welcoming and friendly.

Staff:
Restaurant staff, bar staff, waiters, cleaners were all polite, friendly and helpful. The Reception staff were also polite and very efficient, however, their smiles did not reach their eyes. I think Demetra, whose eyes sparkled with her genuine willingness to help, could be a role model for them.

General:
The hotel and grounds are beautifully laid out and maintained, with so many areas to sit or sunbathe. Lots of sunbeds dotted around the gardens and plus point were the adult only areas and the choice of swimming pools. The freeform pool was very buzzy and the swim up pool bar was a bonus for many. I would have preferred not to have had the pop music and thumping backbeat from the pool bar quite so loud, especially as there were probably more guests of an older age group than younger guests at this time of year. I appreciate this music is needed when the aquafit sessions were being held but not all day and not so loud at other times. Having said that, we did have the option of several other areas to sunbathe if we really found it unbearable so it's not a criticism, more an observation.

One minus point during our stay was the group of young British guests who seemed hell-bent on drinking as much alcohol as possible and making life a misery for the other hotel guests around the pool with their anti-social behaviour. They were loud, drunk and abusive, sitting on the swim-up bar counter smoking in a non-smoking area, and their language was very offensive. This sadly discouraged some guests with small children from enjoying the pool. I feel the bar staff should have refused to serve the group but they appeared to do nothing at all. This is a management issue to ensure the staff discourage this behaviour but feel not enough was done. Fortunately the group vacated the hotel a day or so later.
To Management: We did complain about the issue above and we thank you for the complimentary bottle of wine as an apology - it was appreciated. It would not stop us from staying at the Azia again but would hope that this type of behaviour is discouraged more actively by all staff in the future.

Room Tip: Higher floors are quieter. West wing, sea view balconies miss direct sun in autumn.
