We stayed at Vuni Palace for 3 days at Christmas. Room was lovely and clean and warm but the balcony door opened inwards and the bed was so big the door wouldnt open back properly. Christmas eve food was disapointing, there was a turkey that had been carved for you to help yourself to, the chef just kept popping out the kitchen to carve a bit off and leave it on the hotplate, in a 5*,i would have expected to see a chef ready to freshly carve for you. There was a large selection of salads and dips etc but it was Turkish, which isnt a problem, except there were no labels on anything to tell you what it was! The restaurant staff were pleasant but not very friendly. Also we tried to find the indoor pool and were told it was downstairs. Again, no signage. The stairs were very badly lit and it felt like going to a basement, when we entered the 'Spa' it was also very dark and a bit seedy looking. A lady was being shown around the facilities and a male member of staff opened the door to the changing room (which was beside the reception desk) and there was a half naked lady in there! We didnt use the pool! This hotel is NOT 5*, even though it looks like it when you walk in the foyer, but its not so good behind the scenes. A bit noisy at night if your room is opposite the casino entrance. Tv was in german only.
