“An apartment owned by a gentleman in a city built for gentlemen.”

Valletta is a unique experience. This is easily the best place that I've stayed at in Malta. The views are stunning, the apartment is clean, modern and light, and the atmosphere is condusive to complete relaxation. If you want night life, clubbing or all night boozing Valletta's not for you, but if you enjoy all the history and ambience of a wonderful city filled with kindly and warm-hearted people, there's nowhere better. Self catering is easy here; there are little shops a short walk away, M & S are just up the street, and there's a market at the top of the hill. I wouldn't say this is suitable for anyone with reduced mobility, but for anyone else it's ideal. Alexander turned up to welcome us with bread, wine and biscuits; what more could anyone want? We'll be back!

Just got back from a week's stay in Malta. Old Theatre Lane was the ideal place to stay in Valletta. Valletta is a lovely city and we were so glad we chose to base ourselves there. The apartment has an astonishing view and is extremely well equipped. We were only able to take advantage of the balcony on a few occasions but if the weather had been slightly warmer an ideal place for a little 'aperitivo' or post prandial. Only one slight problem and I suppose in old buildings it is to be expected, the water pressure in the shower was not high enough.
Alexander was a text away if needed, which he wasn't.
A really enjoyable stay.

“Absolutely Wonderful”

The location of this apartment is perfect, having amazing views across Marsamxett habour and being on the edge of Valetta town centre which is stunningly pretty. Water taxis and the Silema ferry run from a habourside stop just below the apartment meaning access to the more modern and busier Silema and St Julians is easy.

The apartment has all the modern facilities you would need but still retains the character of the older building it is housed in. Tastefully decorated it felt like a home from home (we wish!) and sitting on the balcony each morning and evening became second nature and was probably the most enjoying part of our break.

The owner, Alexander, was charming and helpful before our arrival and on departure and we couldn't have wished for a better place to base ourselves on Malta.

We can't recommend Old Theatre Lane, Valetta and Malta more highly and if we return then we wouldn't settle for staying anywhere else.

Just returned from a wonderful week in Valletta.
Communication with Alexander was excellent before & during our holiday and a chilled bottle of wine on arrival set the chilled out atmosphere for the week.
The apartment is in an excellent location with superb views over the harbour. I've never spent so much time on holiday sitting on a balcony watching boats, yachts, ferries!
There was only a little traffice noise during the day and quiet at night. The kitchen has everything you can think of and forget packing the hairdryer - this one is great.
A 2 minute walk up the old steps takes you into the city centre and 10 minutes from the bus station. You're spoilt for choice for buses around the Island but there are teething problems with the new buses due to a lack of drivers. Mdina took 30 minutes to reach but Cirkewwa for the Gozo ferry took 1hr 45 mins but was still worth the trip. I look forward to visiting Malta and staying at this appartment again.
