Despite making a reservation 9 months in advance, on arrival we were assigned to the auxiliary building, meaning we had to lug our food to the main building where the kitchen is located, and were given a room with a "view" of the side the hill behind, not out the fjord side. Thanks for that.
The cooking appliance is an antiquated sort of toaster oven with two burners on top. Our room was the bare minimum,
Two twin beds, and towels. No water glasses, you would have to go back to the other building for those, so we just used our own water bottles. This place is a real come down after the friendly guest houses we have stayed in in Iceland. It is a. It of a hike out of town. I do not recommend this place unless you are stuck for accommodation.

The guesthouse is right on the fjord, so the views are great. It is a bit north of town, past a big plant, in a former industrial building of some sort.

We stayed in one of the apartments. The room was spacious and lovely though there were a couple drawbacks - not sure if it was just the day we were there, but there was a really strong cat smell. And I like cats, but it was a lot. Also, there wasn't much sound barrier between the apartment and the neighboring apartment, which was a bit awkward and we had to ask our neighbors to keep their voices down. So, again, not sure if we hit it on the wrong day but it was not our favorite night in Iceland.

My daughter and I enjoyed our lovely stay at Nord Marina. Our room with private bath was spotless and cozy with a beautiful view of the mountains and water. The large open sitting/eating area with large communal table and kitchen was easy for multiple guests to use at the same time and very pleasant. Wish we could have stayed longer than one night!

It was back in April of this year and we, a family of 5, had a real snow blizzard and roads were blocked to and from Seydisfjordur. At the beginning we struggled to found the place as we couldn't believe that it was right on the docks. But then we finally managed and it was magic. From outside it looked look like a slightly derelict but some kind of nostalgia warehouse in a maritime environment. When we entered covered with snow, we just found ourselves at home. Wooden and warm furniture, an old piano in the vestibule, just gives one the needed comfort from the cold weather outside.
Our host Bjarki, was just a lovely and helpful person. The rooms were nice an very functional, beds were comfortable.
In the morning we were still stuck because of snow and Bjarki prepared, though not planned, a great breakfast. It was just typical Icelandic hospitality as you barely find it on the continent. I wouldn't doubt a second next time a travel to Seydisfjordur, this is the place to stay.

Room Tip: Definitely rooms to the docks, to see the large boats entering the harbor.

We booked last minute and it was a great surprise: on the industrial area of the town, inside an old boat factory there's a charming guesthouse with perfectly equipped appartments and rooms. Rough and peculiar outside, lovely and modern inside. The owner also gave us a nice tip for dinner. Not Just an ordinary guesthouse!
