We had a wonderful time in Reykjavik and hotel Thingholt was locatef perfectly for our stay to celebrate a 50th wedding anniversary. Right at the main 'strip', minutes walk to everything. Margaret at the front desk was extremely friendly and helpful in making restaurant reservations and providing recommendations. The rooms were good size and clean and the breakfast buffet had a wide selection to cover the American and Scandinavian tastes ( fish vs bacon&eggs etc). Will stay again.

Great location in the heart of Reykjavík near to shops, bars and restaurants and the number 6 bus stop where you meet the bus for trips and to get to and from the airport.
The hotel is lovely, great reception area which is nice and clean and welcoming, when you check in. You are welcomed with a nice cup of hot chocolate. (A nice touch.)The room is a bit on the small side but is sufficient for a short stay, they have everything that you need for a comfortable stay, tea coffee facilities, hairdryer and toiletries are provided.
The reception staff are very helpful they arranged us a trip to see the northern lights when a previous one was cancelled, thankyou to them, nothing was to much trouble for them. Rooms were kept clean on a daily basis and the buffet breakfast was very nice and catered for everyonewhich Set us up for the day.
Would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family and would definitely consider going back to this hotel if we were to visit Iceland again.
Only thing would recommend would be spa access included in room rate.

Right from the start to the end we had a great experience here. Very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is located right in the heart of the shopping Main Street . Breakfast was very good. The rooms very cosy and well heated. Very modern amenities. Overall a great experienced waiting to be back.

Room Tip: Higher floor rooms have a great view of the snow capped city

arrived late in the evening covered with snow, and tired from a long tour. The staff took care of our wet and slushy luggage, and brought us each a cup of delicious hot chocolate! The room was spacious for Rekjavik, and well appointed. The bathroom was large with room for our things, excellent smelling amenities and a great big walk in shower with two heads. The whole area was spotless and I am very picky. The bed was wonderful for a good nights sleep. Breakfast was included and was full and complete with helpful attendants. THIS hotel is a must stay as it is close to bus stops, reataurants and pubs, shopping, and Harpa and the harbour. In addition it has very cool decor and free wi fi

Perfect location and lovely hotel. Staff extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. They were checking our excursion pick ups for us as it seems companies no longer pick up from hotels but numbered bus stops instead. Comfy beds too ehich is a bonus as you need a good sleep when your busy and filling your days so you dont miss out on snything. Would recommend this hotel.
