Stayed here for two nights over a summer weekend. The room is a bit small but nothing worse than other European hotels. The location is fantastic and I did not have to use the car when exploring the downtown area. Rooms were clean, staff was friendly, and the place was well maintained. I highly recommend.

Architecturally a great building successfully mixing old and new. Staff excellent friendly and helpful. Location great in centre of old town near excellent restaurants. Dining room totally inadequate to deal with tours, do not wish to queue for breakfast ! Fit out looks as though it was purchased from the cheap end of IKEA, hopeless taps and showers. Toilet extract never worked. Housekeeping was sloppy. Bizarre selection of TV channels. Would marginally recommend.

Lovely hotel, literally right in the centre.
Well decorated, with great beds and a brilliant shower.
Staff really friendly, and breakfast Good.

The hotel is literally over a Viking longhouse. You can pay to go to the exhibition next door, you go down some stairs and literally your under the hotel. So it's a great feeling that your staying where the Vikings were!

Would recommend this place!

We recently stayed at the Hotel Reykjavik Centrum on a summer family vacation. We had 4 adults and 1 child. The rooms were clean and included everything one might need, but very warm and stuffy. We think that the heat might have been on and had to keep the windows open and use fans to get the temperature down to sleep at night. The location was great in terms of being centrally located and within easy walking distance of sites around town, including restaurants and a grocery store, although that wasn't so great late at night when intoxicated locals/tourists were roaming the streets and being quite loud (see above about how warm the rooms were and having to keep the windows open.) We loved the bar in the hotel. The food was great and the service was excellent. Parking was a bit of an issue but we were able to find pay lots fairly close by. Definitely a downside that breakfast was not included in the cost of the room but we appreciate the free wifi.

Spent one night here and everything was very good. No AC in the room, but it's hardly needed in Reykjavik, and you can sleep with open window because it's very quiet. It's walking distance to everything in the city Centre.
