Description: THE HARBOUR The fresh and energetic atmosphere of the old harbour is part of the experience when you dine at Kopar. You can enjoy the view of the Esja mountain, a symbol of Reykjavik, while you watch the ships come into the harbour after a day at sea. THE FOOD At Kopar we choose local products, both from land and sea to create an adventurous menu! Traditional and old methods and recipes meet modern and new ingredients, giving dishes a surprising twist. For exemple, Kopar was the first restaurant in Iceland to serve Icelandic rockcrab. THE DRINKS Surprise and seductive are the keywords at the bar. Traditional cocktails meet new waves of the cocktail world. You can enjoy a pre-drink on our terrace by the harbor or sit outside after dinner with coffee and cognac. We have a cozy bar lounge with a swing where you can enjoy your drinks inside as well. The pride of the bar is the Icelandic fisherman’s Collection, a wall with an incredible selection of cognac and whiskey.

We had dinner here after cruise and we were were pleased. Service was very pleasant. We had set menu, that was booked beforehand. All courses we had were exellent! Tastes were were well balanced and gave us a lot of new pleasant combinations. Even drinks ( apple + ginger) were suprising. We highly recommend this restaurant when staying in Reykjavik.

Kopar is in the Harbour of Reykjavik and looks almost like a container or harbour storage from outside. The inside is however beatifully furnished and perfectly working restaurant. The staff is friendly and professional and everything works like a swiss clockwork.

Prices are on the high side but the quality of food and services is worth it. We had lobster risotto and wolf fish for main course and both were really good. For the dessert we ordered an "adventure" for two persons which turned out to be a set of three dessert items, which was almost too much for two. They were all so good that we ate them up anyway.

Kopar can be recommended even to a demanding culinarist and it offers an experience to anyone.

Kind of short menu but whats on it its amazing. The lamb file and the grilled wolffish are spectacular and I tried a lot.of lamb in the past 4 weeks. Entrees of crab cakes and mussels, even our 5 year old was happy. The Daim cheese cake was an interesting presentation for dessert...thanks you Kopar..well done !

This is a very nice restaurant, that I would definitely return. Everything was cooked nicely. Childrens menu with four options, certain to please the young ones. Restaurant menu, not big which for me is a sign of quality. We shared 4 starters and all of them were fine. Main course had the catch of the day, but although well cooked and tasty the excess sauces covered the actual taste of the fish. Service was good and prompt.

We walked in with no reservations after just picking this place walking down the street looking at menus. I'm so glad we did. I ordered the Icelandic Cod. Sounds boring but it called to me. And it was so good! The accompaniments they pair it with, squash purée, quinoa, etc. worked really well. Dessert also looked great but we were stuffed so didn't order any. A little speedy for us overall but no more so than most of the restaurants nearby.
