As beer is very expensive in Iceland the few bars in Reykjavik offer a happy "hour" that usually lasts a few hours. We walked the length of the main street and had a look at all of the bars and decided to visit Kofinn as it had a 2 for 1 offer. The bar is situated on a corner underneath a shop and is really just one smallish room. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly and as with just about every where in Iceland it is staffed by young people. The beer was good and the background music gave the feel of a small jazz club.
Definitely worth a visit and must surely be better than the alternatives, Shooters or an Irish pub.
