The hotel is conveniently located to the main street and the marina. We walked everywhere in Reykjavik from the hotel. Buffet breakfast had many excellent choices. The Skyr yogurt is amazing! The front desk staff is very accommodating and knowledgeable. Our room overlooked a small building where the roof was being replaced, and there were often workmen within feet of our window. However, they didn't start too early or end too late, so it wasn't a big problem. The bathroom is a bit funky with an opaque sliding glass door separating it from the sleeping area.

The staff is outstanding. The "studio 6" room that we stayed in was perfect for 4, but could fit 6. The artwork and atmosphere is super cool even for a a 46 yr old with a family in a "Semi-Hipster" environment. Cozy and comphy, not a bad walk to anywhere. Great views.

Don't miss out on Slipp Barrin. Those folks have a passion for bar tending that I have never seen before. Not pretentious and rude, inviting and professional.

Yes, everything in Iceland is expensive, but worth every cent.

My husband and I spent a week in Iceland in November 2017. We spent three nights in Reykjavik, two nights near Vik, and then another night in Reykjavik prior to flying to Africa. For the first three nights in Reykjavik, we stayed at the Canopy by Hilton which was fantastic (see my other review about this hotel). We stayed at the Icelandair Reykjavik Marina on the tail end after returning back from Vik.

It's a quirky hotel and mostly nautical in theme (which suits the area around the marina). The room's pretty basic (like most Icelandair Hotel rooms) and nothing to write home about. If you like a little eccentric in style and close to the marina, then this hotel is for you. The Canopy was right in the main centre of town and very upscale and fashionable (much more our style).

Stayed here the night when we were in Reykjavik. It has a great atmosphere and is in a great location. Right in the marina overlooking the boats and water. Staff was nice and the bar/café was very pleasant.

The service provided by the staff at the front desk was fantastic. They answered all of our questions, confirmed tour reservations and helped us check-in for our flight home. They could not have been better. The food in the restaurant was also very good and the prices were less than in the local area restaurants- try the Turkish Pepper after dinner drink. The gym was serviceable-you don't need more as you get plenty of exercise during the tours. The room size was fine- didn't need a big room as again, we didn't spend a lot of time in the room. My only suggestion is to stay in a room on the water side and not the road side as there is a lot of road noise. The hotel did provide earplugs. We would stay there again.
