Reykjavik is changing so quickly they need to keep the commentary up to date. Sometined it skipped ahead, and there is one stop that has been elminated.

That having been said, the town is small and the while loop takes only an hour, so with your 24 hour pass you can use it like public transport, unilike some cities where longer loops mean it could be a very long ride to get where you want to go. The fact is this is just a town of 200,000 people, so there is only so much to see, but you'll see it on this bus. Was running on Good Friday too when many other things were closed.

From the route taken by the bus it would appear that there are more industrial areas than tourist attractions in Reykjavik. Unfortunately as the audio ommentary was not available it was not possible to discover more about the city as was promised when the booking was made. The most exciting part of the tour was when the police pulled the driver over and we were left on the bus for a period of time. Most of the attractions are within walking distance of the city centre and there was nothing to be gained by taking this tour. One of the poorest city sightseeing tours we have ever been on.

There’s a lot of reviews on here saying this tour isn’t worthwhile. I’d disagree. If it’s your first time visiting the city this tour is ideal. It takes 50min to an hour to complete a lap of the city and there’s some 14 stops along the way. Hop off to see the places you want to and simply hop back on. The ticket lasts for 48 hours so you can use over two days and I’d advise this to be one of the first things you do when you’re exploring the city. Chances are you’ll immediately head for specific non city tours like the northern lights or blue lagoon and golden circle but this tour is for the city itself. Once you’ve done it you can plan and walk directly to many attractions in the city but it’s a great way to see the city at a cheap price relative to the cost of everything out there. Make sure you give yourself at least 1-2 days to explore the city. Check out the zoo and the national museum and if the weather is right pop to the harbour and take a boat trip too! Loads to do so you won’t be running out of things or places to visit.

We do the Red Bus tour everywhere we go . We didn't have too long to wait as is mentioned in other reviews. We paid £28 each and boarded the bus. We sat in the front seat at the top of the bus only to find out the windscreen wipers didn't work, the flooring in the bus was ripped up and a trip hazard and as for the tour itself, not only did the commentary not line up with where we were there were long periods with nothing said, they could at least have given us some information on the country and the way of life. There wasn't really anything to look at at most of the stops so after an hour we got off and thought what a waste of money in a already very expensive destination.

We decided on this activity because our tours were cancelled due to weather. Firstly, having purchased this on my phone, I did not have a printout. But you are required to present a printout (an image of the voucher on your phone is not accepted). Without access to a printer at the apartment we were staying at, that presented a problem. Luckily the nice bloke at the bus station helped me print off the voucher. Then, while the brochures say there is a departure every 30 minutes, we waited for over an hour before a bus finally appeared. I suspect there was only one bus running that day as the full circuit takes about one hour. Lastly, the narration was difficult to hear and understand and did not provide much interesting detail. You take these tours to relax and get a little more info about the city you are visiting, it felt like the narration was superficial at best and as a result, we only went around once since "hopping back on" would have taken another hour.
