Friday lunch. Everything was 5-star: food, drinks, service. I had fried liver as main course - and that’s a ’demanding’ dish (= bad in many restaurants). Here it was delicious.

The location is excellent with plenty of places to park nearby and located right on the river walk. There is loads of great people watching; featuring a very diverse, fun, happy and quiet 'parade' of characters. We went for an early dinner. We chose the fixed menu and the pairing. Our server was kind, friendly and well-spoken but seemed to have little passion for food or wine. The descriptions of the pairings and courses were adequate but just barely. The martini we started with was dreadfully room temperature and possibly just one shot of a very nice, dry, deep, vodka that was apparently made in Turku. We wanted to try a locally made treat but this was more a sample than a full martini. Most of the Wii pairings were also less than half pours. The cauliflower soup was impressively natural, earthy, velvety and almost foamy and the carpaccio was salty, beautifully presented and punctuated with pickled onions. It was all a little over-dressed but very nice. The main portions were very generous but both the fish and duck breast were over-done. The leg and wing were excellent but perhaps a little past their prime as both were dry. None of the duck was at all greasy, as some people often say about duck. The sauce was flavorful, rich and the perfect texture. The ganache and sorbet had a, bright, fresh flavor but, to me, it seemed unrefined and lacking creativity. The experience was very good but it lacked anything memorable.

Because of the quite good reviews, we booked a table at this place.
The menu is rather small (4 main dishes to choose from) but seems to be changing according to what products are in season. Generally I would have liked to have one option that would be heavier on carbs like pasta or risotto but that is just my personal thing.
Food was pretty tasty after all, the staff was very friendly and checked regularly is all is fine. No complaints.

Very good four course set menu. We both chose the veal main course which was excellent. “Fluffy” asparagus soup was great, followed by a decent beef tartare and finished off with a lemon tart with a brûlée top and served with strawberry sorbet and rhubarb. Everything was just as it should be and service was efficient and friendly. Highly recommended.

I expected something a little more traditional at Mami, but the menu didn't look that way. I ended up having to come back for lunch to get the complete meal I wanted. My first visit, for dinner, involved veal schnitzel and potatoes and a lemon dessert. It was amazing! I hadn't had a schnitzel that good in some time. But the appetizers didn't appeal to me - the soup was asparagus. I noticed they had perch soup on their lunch menu, and I asked it that was going to be the case the next day and they said it was. So the next day I was there for lunch and I had a delicious perch soup, which felt like a real Finnish dish.

The service was excellent, the restaurant both indoors and outdoors was very pleasant (I sat indoors both times but the patio was lively), music was kept an a low level and there were not televisions anywhere to be seen. Very civilized.

Essentially a modern farm-to-table restaurant with a general European vibe. Close to the river.
