The location is excellent with plenty of places to park nearby and located right on the river walk. There is loads of great people watching; featuring a very diverse, fun, happy and quiet 'parade' of characters. We went for an early dinner. We chose the fixed menu and the pairing. Our server was kind, friendly and well-spoken but seemed to have little passion for food or wine. The descriptions of the pairings and courses were adequate but just barely. The martini we started with was dreadfully room temperature and possibly just one shot of a very nice, dry, deep, vodka that was apparently made in Turku. We wanted to try a locally made treat but this was more a sample than a full martini. Most of the Wii pairings were also less than half pours. The cauliflower soup was impressively natural, earthy, velvety and almost foamy and the carpaccio was salty, beautifully presented and punctuated with pickled onions. It was all a little over-dressed but very nice. The main portions were very generous but both the fish and duck breast were over-done. The leg and wing were excellent but perhaps a little past their prime as both were dry. None of the duck was at all greasy, as some people often say about duck. The sauce was flavorful, rich and the perfect texture. The ganache and sorbet had a, bright, fresh flavor but, to me, it seemed unrefined and lacking creativity. The experience was very good but it lacked anything memorable.
