A real gem, tucked away in a quiet spot but still central – the train station is very handy and the ferry terminal isn't too far either. I completely loved this place, especially the decor and features; it was like stepping back in time and completely wonderful. Perfect if you like inimitable character and a boutique style, probably not for you if you're looking for mod cons and minimalism. Even though the breakfast was pretty basic, my overall experience was splendid with top-notch service throughout the stay. I'm still talking about Park Hotel months after my visit and I'll definitely return one day.

Jugent/ArtDeco house in a quiet neighborhood. Yet close to the centre. Gives one a glimpse into the way upper classes used travel. Room wasn't even so small as expected, but the bathroom with a tub is. Unfortunately breakfadt was just standard Scandinavian: i.e. not bad, but nothing extra. Free parking. If a good deal is possible we'll come again.

The hotel in centrally located in Turku and has it's own parking area. Our room was small, one of us had either to sit or stay in bed for the other to move around. Breakfast was good. Service with a smile but totally impersonal.

Cosy hotel in park surrounding, nice garden in summer. Age starts to show in room furniture and specially in bathrooms, but anyway hotel has a very nice feeling and a good breakfast. This is certainly only one boutique hotel in Turku.

The Park Hotel is a well managed and welcoming hotel on a quiet side street in the shopping district of Turku. It is close to a number of restaurants and shops, but about a 15-20 minute walk to the historic river area and the Cathedral. From there you can walk or take the #1 bus to the castle (we did this and recommend it). One of the reasons we chose this hotel and its location was that it offers free parking. The hotel is cute as a button, and oozes charm, particularly in the cozy lobby area and in the attractive gardens near the entrance with inviting areas to sit. There are a number of hotels closer to the river that might be more conveniently located if you don’t have a car or if the cost of parking isn’t an issue. The hotel is a converted 4-story old family mansion with upper floors served by an elevator.

Our room (#207) was large and colorfully decorated in early 1900's style, with lace coverings on the side table and on the night stands. The double bed was the common two-twins-pushed-together arrangement. It was fairly comfortable but the mattresses were concave and ready to be replaced. The room had three chairs around the side table, a separate wicker arm chair, a mini-bar, desk, and an armoire. There was no a.c., and in the middle of August it was somewhat warm at night. Wifi in the room was ok. A nice feature was that the room opened onto a vine- covered porch with a small table and chairs and a view of the adjacent park. The bathroom was good-sized with a pedestal sink and a tub/shower combination. Storage room was provided by a shelf above the sink. The only minor issue with the bathroom was that water from the shower tended to run off onto the floor, but this was controllable with an extra towel.

The breakfast buffet was served in the cozy lobby area and was quite good with fruits, yogurt, cereal, eggs & bacon, cold cuts of meat and cheese, baked goods, etc.

All in all we recommend the Park if qualities of charm and character are more important to you than location or modern amenities.
