Very nice hotel near city centre of Jyväskylä with very nice rooms and great breakfast.

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 5 Apr 2017
This hotel has very nice rooms and some of them have lake views. There is also rooms with own sauna. If is able to manage to get upgrade with bonus card then upgrade room is with Sauna if has booked standard room.

Problem is just that this hotel is quite fully booked all the time or I have tough luck. This was first time for several years that there wasn't any big happening during my stay and I was able to get room from this hotel. Still I wasn't able to get upgade.

Sauna of hotel is nice also but "cooling" room of Sauna is too small. There was now 6 people on same time and there wasn't anhymore place to sit. Ofcourse balcony would be also nice for coling after sauna.

Restaurant had also good food but restaurant environment is not so comfortable.

Breakfast was very delicious and there is middle european style that they bring coffee on table. There is also psibility to order some extras on breakfast.

Room Tip: All rooms are nice and quiet (as far as I have stayed). I would prefer lake side views and rooms...

I spent two nights in this hotel situated close to conference center Paviljonki. The service was friendly and fast enough. My hotel room was guite spacy and modern with stylish lightning. The view from the large window was towards concrete car parking hall! The sauna and gym were at 9th floor, and both of them were very nice and spacy. Breakfast was good: in the second morning I got the fresh coffee served to the table, too.

Hotel would earn 4 stars, but pricing and central booking service will miss one star; thus 3 stars.

Positive side: New, pretty clean (except the carpets in the corridoors), friendly service at the front desk and breakfast room, breakfast itself.

In the elevator, you asked for feedback thru TripAdvisor:

To be imrpoved:

Overall pricing. In small city center of Finland, these prices are close to any major expensive city in the world. Maybe they could justify this with the demand, but still. Come'on.

Another negative: We booked from hotel chain web site with my colleague. He finished 30 secs earlier and got much lower rate than me. And I used the chain owner card (this famous Finnish "Green Card" :-) ). I even called the central booking office and they gave me even more expensive rate of the telephone. No way to get the same rate as my colleague. Well, this way you do not earn the trust!

Dear Jari-Pekka,

Thank you for your feedback.

I am delighted to hear that you were satisfied with our service both at the front desk and the breakfast room - we really try to ensure courteous and polite service everywhere at the hotel at all times. I am also glad that you were happy with our breakfast.

I want to present my apologies to the fact that you felt our prices were too high at the time of your booking and your rate was different from your colleagues, which made you feel we are not trustworthy. All room rates are based on availability and they may vary depending on the time of the booking and different room types. Additionally, in general you always get the lowest available rate by making the reservation at sokoshotels.fi.

Kind Regards,

Hannu Nirkkonen
General Manager

First stay in this hotel but surely not the last. Friendly and attentive service, comfortable spacey rooms, comfortable beds and basically eveyrything needed. Good tavern-type restaurant and excellent breakfast.

This is our second time at this hotel. Everything was just as good as the last time. The breakfast was even better. Last time I would have rated breakfast as an extensive but standard hotel one. This time it reached to very good.

The location of the hotel is perfect. Really close to the railway station and city core, conveniently connected by a bridge. Last time we had a room on the second floor and this time on the seventh, both really good. The rooms are spacious and high to ceiling.

We didn’t have to time to go to the sauna last time but now we did. It is a really a nice sauna and they supply you with scrub cream, tea and water - at least in the women’s sauna. Don’t miss it!

However I do believe that why this hotel is so good depends entirely on the service minded and friendly staff.

I would give cleaning 3 stars, room and breakfast 4 and staff 5!
