We were straight off a flight from UK when our host enthusiastically suggested we start our first trip to Finland visiting this museum.
What a start to our holiday. We may have looked a little out of place among the many bikers, but the welcome from the everyone was lovely. After a look at the bikes on show, Riku heard we were there, and took the time to tell us of some of his incredible experiences and the history of some of the bikes.
I am sure that everyone receives the same warm welcome and I’d dare anyone not to enjoy the bikes and the passion with which they are exhibited. For anyone with the slightest interest in motorcycles, this is the place to go.
As a bonus, there’s an inside bar/cafe with jukebox and a huge outdoor terrace looking out towards the lake. This alone is worth a visit.
Awesome place!
It’s definitely worth to visit!
This is a well kept secret in Lahti, a few kilometres away from the centre. The owner Riku is a great personality and can tell you everything there is to know about motorbikes. The collection is rare and there are great stories behind the bikes. This a perfect place to visit on a summer day and after the tour you can enjoy a cold beer by the lake.
The museum is really excellent for its collection of bikes. Lot of varieties with its uniqueness. I would like to take this opportunity to appreciate the efforts out in by Mr Riku Routo.
Apart from the collection of bikes what we can definitely look for is to click some amazing pics if you are photography enthusiast
100% recommendation to visit this museum located at Lahti, Finland
A very unique & rare collection of world's renowned motorcycle brands. Riku has spent tremendous efforts to make this happen i believe. From the oldest Japanese made model to the stylish russian bikes to the grand old Indian royal enfield, it has all the famous brands. Harley, Kawasaki, BSA, Honda, Raleigh, Sunbeam, Indian, Java, are some of the models at display. Not to forget the ever shining Lambretta & Vespa are also at display!! Riku said, there is plan of expansion too.
Worth a visit surely.
Bangalorean in Lahti :)
We were very excited with this museum. Really interesting place to visit in Finland, regardless, wether you’re a bike fan or never even rode one.
I wish all the the best to the owner, who let us in despite the museum was closed (trip advisor showed open though).
We had a great conversation with this outstanding man who shared his future plans for museum development.
This place is a must visit in Finland.
