Delicious traditional Spanish food in the centre of Helsinki. Friendly service. Wine prices are pretty high which is usual in Finland.

The Parrillo Espanola is a Spanish restaurant in the centre of Helsinki City. The interior feels comfortable and the dishes are in accordance to what you expect from good restaurants in Spain. The staff is always friendly, speaks English and provides support where required. The beef I ordered was cooked to the point and the entire food was delicious. The wine offered is excellent and expensive. The missing fifth star goes especially to the price performance ratio: The quality of food is really excellent - and the pricing is a bit overdone.

This restaurant has been in the same place, with the same format, for 40 years. Still going strong! This was the third time I visited there, and again everything was great. Food is so delicious, environment is peaceful, and mediterranean. Wines are great, prices a bit high, but compared to the quality, ok. We recommend to take the full course, tapas', Grilled beef fillet "Parrilla Española", and Creme Cataluna. Only, but very small minus, was too Quick service, waiters should wait a bit, when one portion is finished, eaten up. Anyhow, we recommend this place, very highly. Go and test, if ya want a peaceful place to eat great food, and spend quality time with someone special.

We celebrated a friend’s birthday in this traditional Spanish restaurant that has existed in the same location in Helsinki city for several decades.

It was easy to pick the dishes as the food menu was limited, particularly for vegetarian items. We decided to do meat and shared a tapas plate (25 e for normal size, we had it made bigger for to satisfy 3 hungry people) and some fried shrimps (13e) as starters. The tapas was excellent but the shrimp dish felt a bit plain in comparison. Luckily the bread that came with it was fresh and hearty.

We shared the Cour de filet (69e), recommended for two, between us as the main course. Given the generous starters, there was enough to eat there for us three. The meat was melt-in-the-Mouth tender, cooked just right, served with potatoes and some veg. The dish was excellent.

Service was polite and the waiter very knowledgeable in everything from Spanish meats to wine. We had a great time and will go back for the food!

Randomly ended up here for a dinner. Hidden gem? Maybe not. Food was good but quite regular though. Service was very nice. Would I go again? Maybe, to have nice tapas and something else from Parilla.
