A ”hidden” bistro with an amazing, comfortable atmosphere.. the service was excellent and the staff was really friendly and helpful. The seasonal menu was exciting and really delicious. I smiled all the way home late in the evening.

We like this restaurant, and we like the food. But it was a nice summer evening and we wanted to eat on the terrace. No, not possible. Why? Because "we don't serve dinner on the terrace." So we went down the street to another well-known Helsinki restaurant and had a lovely evening with wine and dinner for €360. So, walking three extra metres to serve food outdoors is not worth the revenue.

Tucked away in a corner of Katajanokka/Skatudden, Wellamo is a place to make you happy. It is not pretentious, yet quality is top-notch in drinks, food and the wine-list. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, talkative but not intrusive. Tartare for starters was sublime, and the pike-perch with asparagus and a ramson-sauce was perfect. (Well, there could have been a little bit more fish, but the composition was beautiful). We'll be back!

This amazing, little, cozy place looks like your favourite living room but with 5-star restaurant food. The service here is friendly, helpful and add to the experience of enjoying good Finnish food. Would definitely recommend for a lovely night out!
