It was funny to arrive to the hotel by a tram-line, which we use every now and then. On the other hand it is also true that the hotel is situated in an area where we do not visit very often.
Of course we knew that the old prison had been renovated into a hotel a few years ago, but this was our first visit there. It was a pleasant surprise to see how well the modernization had been carried out but leaving still some memories from the past. Especially the central corridor is very impressive.
We had a junior suite, which was was situated in a previous library room, which probably explained that the room had a large window. As you can expect from an old prison, the views from the window were not very impressive. In this case it was to the backyard. The room contained all necessary conveniences plus as an extra a tiny sauna, Due to our limited understanding, we had problems with operating the lights.
The service was very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast-time was divided into four three quarter sessions due to corona. The food selection was mainly normal but variety of teas was abundant. Another extra was the possibility to have fresh omelettes on request.
I do not know how, but our reservation was only for the room and did not include the breakfast. The price for breakfast is not very high, but however this is a slight difference from most hotels.
