This hotel is probably the closest you will get to experience Finnish nature and beautiful archipelago scenery if you have only a weekend in Helsinki. Its located by the sea shore in the eastern suburbs with beautiful views of the sea and the woods.

The prices are a lot more affordable than in the center if you are not bothered to travel 30 minutes. The standard room was fairly small, but perfect for travelling solo and with a partial sea view. I enjoy walking and being surrounded by greenery, so this place was perfect for me and just as presented online.

The common areas such as lobby and the restaurant have gorgeous open views. The location is convenient especially for those who travel by car from East and North. The hotel has a large free parking area.

If you are interested in kayaking the Helsinki archipelago, this is the perfect place. Natura Viva's paddling center is only a few hundred meters away.

If you're planning a long weekend in Helsinki, I'd recommend either dividing your time between the city center and here - or staying here, exploring Helsinki and then renting a car and exploring a little bit further to places a short drive away, like Porvoo for example.

My first impression when I got there was: 'Oh my God, barracks..'. But the lobby and the room turned out to be really well designed and comfortable. I had a sea view, it was winter so the sea looked a bit dangerous but amazing. I could do nothing but looked at it... Breakfast was ok, especially herrings but dinner could be better. Also, the staff (especially at the reception) from time to time tend to be a bit impolite. Nevertheless, I liked the place and the stay. Quiet surrounding, cosy restaurant area, nice design of rooms counted for me.

The location of the hotel is very nice, if you have a car. It's a bit further away from the city centre, but on the other hand it is right by the sea and has a tranquil, green surrounding. Very calm and nice. The hotel itself is big building with several wings, lots of light and the atmosphere is right from the 1970's. That is a nice and personal touch, that sets it apart from other (more modern) hotels.

The room was quite big, and we had a view to the sea. The whole hotel seemed to be very quiet, a perfect place for relaxation. There are great walks nearby, and right next to the hotel you can rent a canoe and go explore the shores.

The breakfast was very big and there was a lot of variety. We also dined at the restaurant and were pleasantly surprised. The food was very tasty and reasonably priced.

Our only complaint is that the cleaning services were not quite up to task. When we arrived, the bathroom floor was flooded and dirty towels were left on the floor. We asked it to be cleaned and they did, and we didn't think more of it at that point. We stayed for several days, though, and the less than eager cleaning was constant. When we complained about it at the reception, we were offered an explanation, that the cleaning staff did not dare to enter our room because we were travelling with a dog. We should have informed we left the room and that it would be empty for cleaning. I seriously doubt it would have made any difference. There was another couple complaining about the cleaning as well, and they didn't have a dog. So, all in all, if the cleaning would have been more up to the task, this would have been a great hotel. Now it is just average.

I've been in the Kellari restaurant which was ok. But the Hotel area is so beautiful. The beach is right in front of you, there is a sauna opportunity and big halls for seminars. A perfect place for a refreshing day with your coworkers.

Room Tip: Beautiful viewes to the sea

We spent two nights at the hotel. We had heard good things about the hotel so we were excited to go there.

When we arrived the receptionist told us we had only booked one night, despite we had a reservation for two nights witch we booked several weeks before our arrival. Luckily this was solved by them, but it didn't give us any positive feeling when we arrived.

The view and the food in the restaurant was a positive experience. Really good food and the waiter was great.

The hotel has nice view over the ocean and the nature. This doesn't make up for the really old interior though. It feels like going back to the 1970:s, lots of wood, old furniture and old carpets.

We also had some serious issues with the keys witch stopped working several times so we couldn't get in to our room. This took about 30 minutes to get sorted out!

The other staff didn't feel service minded compared to other hotels in this price range.

Would not go there again.
