It is a great way to see local diet habits. You see many mouth watering delicatessen and great coffee.
This indoor market was a nice reprieve from the cold after enjoying the neighboring outdoor market. There was a nice variety of things to look at and we enjoyed some cheeses and sweets.
The soup shop is great for a quick lunch with large soup servings including crusty fresh bread. We had the cheese soup on a cold snowy day and it was perfect. Very small seating so there is a queue but there are plenty of other great eateries with open sandwiches and delicacies including some amazing jams and honeys.
Th only prob is that the public toilets are outside - we didn’t use them because it was so cold.
Highly recommended.
On my first day in Helsinki I visiting this market hall and it was nice walking around there and looking on all Things you can buy for eating or have as an souvenir. Had a plan about testing a soup here as an breakfast but I didnt suceed to get table there because it was full at all time. I did walk around 3-4 times and then give up to catch a table. Thinking to go back another day but that not happened. Built in 1988.
