Visiting Helsinki and thought we’d give Lia a try. Glad we did!
The hosts were very welcoming and our server took time to explain how Georgians eat their meals - typically with the food coming out as it’s ready rather than in courses.
We sampled Georgian red, white (more like amber/orange) and rose wines - settled on white and rose. The dumplings were similar to Asian soup dumplings and we were instructed in proper method of eating them - I got liquid on my shirt anyway. We did the cheese bread which might be compared to pita bread with cheese inside. It’s a “ must eat”. We opted for chicken skewer and were very pleased / the chicken was well seasoned and had a little char on it. Grilled mushrooms and red peppers were also included
All around, a great experience and we wish them great success on this relatively new venture at this location.
