Perfect original and unique tastes.The ingredients seemed to be very natural,organic and fresh.The service was excellent and the timing between dishes very appropriate.All dishes were explained and well presented.The chef was presenting the plates himself and he was susceptible to our remarks.

Very tiny minimal space. But the food is exceptional. Eight-course suprise menu, all dishes were tasty, some really good.

We are regular visitors to Helsinki from the UK as my wife is Finnish and over the years with have enjoyed many fabulous culinary experiences. However of our visit to Spis rates by far the highest both in terms of ingenuity and enjoyment. Each dish represented a culinary achievement with a combination of ingredients and flavours delivering a memorable delight for our tastebuds. Each of the nine courses was expertly described both in terms of the cooking process and ingredients by each of the three employees/owners/chefs. Our food was expertly matched with a flight of wines that included and excellent Nebbiolo from Piedmont and an interesting Japanese Saki. Be sure to book in advance as this is a small venue. When visiting Helsinki, Spis is a must as it showcases the very best in modern Nordic cuisine ….you will not be disappointed . We look forward to returning in the Spring.
