We had to move accommodation at short notice due to our original booking falling short of expectations. The staff at Grand Marina not only facilitated our early morning move but were so kind, accommodating and helpful that we had never experienced such service before. The rooms were fabulous for the price and the whole place felt luxurious. The breakfast was excellent as well. We had travelled from abroad to attend a wedding at Suomenlinna and after a terrible first night in our first hotel thought we might not be fit to make it. However the cool, spacious rooms and the friendliness, professionalism and general positivity of the staff restored us 100% and we had unforgettable weekend for the right reasons in the end!

The hotel is extremely uncomfortable!!!
The rooms are cold to very cold, the aircon unit is not switching of and this results into freezing temperature.
The breakfast was TOTALLY bad!!! The omelette was horrible (I believe was made by egg powder and not real eggs). The meatballs were also horribly made!!!
The hotel should charge €70 per day fir this level of service.
Even though the location of the hotel is great I will still not stay at it ever again!!!!!

Room tip: Do not book this hotel!!!

I stayed here several times for business trips and for leisure. The hotel is close to the Viking Line terminal and you might be surprised to see a ship in front of your window in the morning. The quality of the rooms vary, some seem to need regurbishment . Try to get a room in the upper stories and away from the elevators. Sometimes the sofas or chairs are dusty, but when I complained about it, the hotel made it up to me. The breakfast is good, with local dishws and continental breakfast elements. Vegan and glutenfree choices are available as well as fresh fruit. Staff is very friendly and always willing to help. Keep in mind that if you have to leave early a taxi might be needed as the public transport does not run 24/7. The tram is close by and takes you downtown, but you can also walk downtown via the market square. A supermarket is in walking distance as well and the hotel offers some refreshments as well.
