We stayed three nights at the Rivoli Jardin in October. The hotel is well located, although I would say that the estimate of being 400m from the central station is optimistic, particularly for anyone managing luggage over the varying pavement surfaces.

Set back from the road and accessed through a courtyard, the hotel has a small footprint with rooms located over 5 floors. We had a superior room on the 4th floor, directly next to the lift, but the insulation was good and we were not disturbed by noise. Rooms are compact by UK standards, but comfortable; Finnish beds come as doubles but with two single duvets, rooms are warm.

We had an easy chair, a desk with chair, space for our luggage and a good sized in-room fridge, handy for storing purchases from the good supermarket less than 100m (just across the road) from the hotel. There was a small amount of storage space, possibly because of the wardrobe being next to the lift shaft, but we were only there for a few nights.

The bathroom could have done with a bit of updating, particularly the shower; but there was plenty of hot water - even at 1.00am when we arrived - and towels were of a good size.

Staff were friendly and helpful and clearly proud of their hotel.

Breakfasts were very good with a selection of hot items - porridge, bacon, sausage and scrambled egg - an excellent waffle maker, cereals, fruit, cold meats and salad, pastries and yogurt, fresh juices and coffee/tea, either from cona jugs or a coffe machine. Breakfast was served in a dining area behind Reception and flowed through to a conservatory.

There was hand sanitiser available in Reception and bottles on each table at breakfast. There were not so many Covid-19 restrictions here as at home, only serving to show how used we have become to them.

It is about a 5 minute walk to the Old Market Hall, the markt square and the marina in one direction and to the main shopping area in the other. Helsinki is an eminently walkable city.

Finland is a country which is quite hard on the budget and the Rivoli Jardin represents good value and comfortable accommodation and the breakfasts will set you up for the day to explore the city.

Very good location in Helsinki city center and very close to a huge supermarket.
Breakfast is good. Rooms are clean, nice and silent (but the air conditioning can not be switched off and our room was cold).

We stayed in the hotel with our family of four. Location of this hotel is excellent. Hotel does not have restaurant but there are lots of good restaurants nearby. Breakfast was nice with warm stuff as well. Outside there is a bar with beautiful atmosphere and great staff. Eventhough this is a bit old hotel, rooms have been update with new beds, furniture etc. Remember: location, location, location is everything and this place has it with smart price compared to other hotels in Helsinki.

Hotel Rivoli is located in a very nice location, while still away from the bustle. The room is very old, very like the ones in the 1900s, and the breakfast is also much better than the other breakfasts in hotels in Helsinki.

This hotel is well located close to the city centre but in our view lacks space, and comfort is minimal. The room we had was really small and we found the hotel to be catered more for the hurried business person than for leisure tourism. Breakfast is also without frills.
