Everything was incredible… the lamb meatballs, reindeer, perch, salmon soup, summer vegetable soup, panna cotta, cocktails, dessert wines. The waitstaff was, knowledgeable, kind and attentive.

Don´t miss this restaurant, if you are staying / visiting Töölö neighborhood in Helsinki. A classic, since 1966, Kuu serves decent & delicious food with reasonable prices.

For starters, we had goat cheese sallad (her) and poached perch fillet (me). Very nice! And as I later told the friendly waitress: it often happens that after good starters, you are more or less disappointed with the main course(s). Not this time! Her lambkin meatballs and my pan fried liver were excellent. Actually, I don´t think I ever had liver this delicious.

Definitely worth a visit!

Decent meal - but nothing special for the price. We paid €130 for two starters and two mains, along with a couple of beers and a couple of glasses of wine.

Reindeer tartar and poached perch to start - ok enough, but nothing special with regards to taste, presentation or ingredients.

The mains of petite tender and goat cheese salad were ok, but again, nothing special. The meat was more chewy than tender and the portion size was small.

We wouldn’t head back here if we returned to Helsinki. It wasn’t awful, but I can’t understand the really high TA rating.

Service was attentive and friendly.

Had it really been seven years since my last visit? It seemed like nothing had changed. I was seated on their wonderful covered patio, no televisions, no obtrusive music, just attentive service and great food. Their local bread, especially the malt bread, should not be missed. I started with the salmon soup and then had the lamb meatballs with lingonberries and mashed potatoes. I was quite full by the end. Highly recommended (again!)

This restaurant was an experience! Food was phenomenal and service was superb. All the food was delicious but, the reindeer tartar just melted in your mouth!
