We came to this hotel three years ago and liked it very much. It is easy to reach from the E75 (you don't have to go through the centre of Oulu), has plenty of parking and good sized comfortable rooms. The location near the river and park is really nice. But on this visit we felt standards had slipped. The buffet breakfast was indifferent and the restaurant evening menu was very ordinary. It's best to eat in Oulu centre. We stayed over a weekend and our room was not serviced on Sunday. We assume this cannot be the policy of a large business hotel but it does suggest poor management. Whilst we would probably come back because of the great location there are definitely things that could be improved.

Stayed here between 19-20 July 2018. Outside temperature 30-32 degrees Celsius shadow. When we enter the room we are chocked how warm it is. The sun has been apperently hitting the room the whole day. We look for the termostat, and to hour surprise there is none. So the room is super warm about 27 degree, we go down and complain and we get a fan. It works a little bit.... But not much.
At least one pay as much as we did, we expect a room with a comfort temperature . Avoid this hotel during summer and hotdays unluss you are used with high room temperature for sleeping.

The hotel consists of various blocks of differing ages with glass 'skybridge' connecting to reception/restaurant/bar area. The whole complex is in attractive surroundings and is quite stylish. Our room was on the third floor of one older block. There were some steps to negotiate before the lift which could be a problem for some people. It was a spacious twin-bedded room with good-sized en-suite and large windows affording a view of the river. Blackout blinds enabled us to blot out the almost continuous daylight of late May. A kettle and some coffee and tea were provided. There was also a hairdryer, iron and ironing board and very large wardrobes. The buffet breakfast included in the room price had plenty of choice and was served in a pleasant room with interesting artworks. All staff were friendly and helpful, arranging packed breakfasts on the day we had to set out at 2.15 am for a birding excursion. In view of the odd times we kept, leaving very early and returning midday to catch up on sleep we missed out on the housekeeping but feel sure had there been issues they would have been resolved. We had an interesting and tasty dinner of local specialities, but had to dine out on Sunday as the restaurant was closed in the evening. Ample free parking, good wi-fi connection.
