The dogs are amazing! Don't miss learning how to use the dog sled, and go for the longest ride that you can afford. The staff work professionally and efficiently to get you quickly and safely moving on the dog sleds. After the ride you can learn about the dogs and how they are raised and cared for, and visit them.
Wow! Visited this place in winter season where the snow is very thick. The dogs are barking and so excited to run, as I am excited to ride. But first, gear up yourself safely. The equipments are complete and safe, it really protects you and covers in Cold weather. As you prepared yourslef to ride, you have some snap shots with the husky around you and a visit of their farm to see and learn about the husky. Have yourself a chocolate drink and cookies to warm up yourslef before taking a ride. You can choose how many minutes/hour of rounds ride with the husky. There will be some briefing to guide you. And as you go around you will more about the husky, see the beauty of your surroundings as you enjoy the fast ride with the husky dogs And after that have play in their very white snow and sceneries. Is a good place to visit.
Rovaniemi finally got snow a few days before we arrived. While there wasn't enough snow cover to do the 10km husky safari we'd hoped for (nobody wants to get stuck in a half frozen swamp), we were able to do a short 1km ride. Fast and really fun— it gave everyone a first taste of dog sledding.
The dogs are Siberian huskies, obviously well cared for, and fun to visit in their pens. They take the summers off and train every fall for the winter sledding season. We booked directly with the Arctic Circle Husky Park.
It's still not cheap, but we got a far better deal than we would have using an outside tour operator. Located at the north end of the Santa Village.
Highly recommend. Our whole family hopes to go dog sledding again!
We visited when there was sadly no snow, so no rides. We still had fun meeting and petting all the huskies. They are obviously well loved and taken care of.
The husky ride was one of the highlights for our trip - the kids loved them. Even our son, who is a nervous of dogs, found them easy to be around. It’s a pity there wasn’t more snow, or it wasn’t easier to get to be closer to the dogs. There is only one out at a time on a leash. The 2km ride only lasts 5 minutes so if you can go longer do - amazing experience and worth it. There wasn’t enough snow for us to take a longer ride.
We had a great time here.
