We had the twin bed suite with a view booked for the last 2 days. I'll start with everything that was awesome.
First, the room was spectacular. The beds are unbelievably comfy. There is a loft with another bed if needed. There was a Kitchenette in our room as well. The view was great and we got to see the Northern Lights on our last night from our porch and out the window! The room was super cozy!
Next, they have a shuttle service that takes you back and forth to your room because the roads and so slippery with ice (there is no snow here currently). The drivers are fast and very friendly. We didn't wait more than 5 minutes but 1 or two times, and that was because they were very busy. We used this service a few times a day.
Third, the front desk and concierge were extremely friendly and helpful. They tried their hardest to help us book a Northern Lights tour on our first night as our Husky sarafi was cancelled due to no snow. They were booked, but they tried really hard. They also use Whatsapp to communicate with you. you can text them when you want to be picked up, and they send the shuttle. You can text them for dinner reservations or text them to help with making reservations with a tour company.
Now, what needs to be improved, from my perspective.
1. The hot water isn't very hot, more on the mid to upper side of warm
2. The service at the restaurant wasn't great when we went for dinner. We got seated and they forgot about us and after about 20 minutes, I had to go ask to have our order taken. They did give us the drinks for free. But then after dinner, they forgot to bring our check and the waitress came over and wanted to know if everything was ok, kinda like she was saying, "why y'all still here?". I said, yeah, we just need our check. So then she brought it out.
Ok. Now for the beyond awesome, best service I've had for something of this nature. (I was told this service is all part of the same company that runs the hotel)
This trip was a daddy-daughter trip for me and my youngest daughter. I booked a private Santa Park trip and meeting with Santa. Here's what happened: This morning, an elf came to our room. spent about 20 minutes with my daughter just talking. She knew her name, dogs name, sisters name, what sports she likes, her favorite singers, etc. She helped her write a list to Santa as well. Then, we got in a van, drove the couple hundred yards to Santa park. There was a long line waiting to get in and our elf took us right to the front and in the door. We got our VEP badges and was on our way. Our personal elf guide took us to the mail room, to decorate cookies where we also got a snack and some Glögi, we made wooden santas and reindeer, we went to elf school, crossed over the arctic circle underground and go a certificate for that. We had lunch and our elf brought us each a present from Santa. We then got to watch the elf show, which is basically like a Cirque Du Soleil performance. That ended the mornings adventures. I would give that an A++. Our elf never broke character and was just fantastic.
For dinner, we met another elf in the lobby. Same deal. Never broke character, dressed the part and was just great. We went to a "magic box" or van and headed out. I thought we were going back to Santapark. But no. To my surprise, we headed about 20 min down the road to Santa's Magical Forest. When we got way back into the forest, away from all light, another elf appeared. We got out and walked through the forest for a bit and came to Santa's workshop. The elves took us on a tour of all the areas of the workshop. The first room is Santa's nice list and my daughter had her name on there. We got to see how they made toys and help a little in the wood shop, fabric shop and metal shop. We then moved on to Santa's office and then as we went in the next room, there was Santa. We got to spend on time with Santa, ask questions and get pictures. He also knew everything about my daughter. He gave her another present. Then, we went down the forest a bit more and came to a cottage. We went inside and there was a fire and a very nice dinner set up. They knew my daughter was a vegeterian, so they served us a wonderfully delicious traditional Finnish meal. She had a vegetarian meal and I had a Reindeer shank with all the fixings. After dinner, the elves taught us some more elfisms and we sang and danced. Then, we went out into the forest again, went by where Santa keeps his Reindeer and then saw the Northern Lights. The elves bid us farewell as we got into the van for our return trip back to the hotel. I give this an A+++. I'm not sure that either of the elf/Santa experience could have been any better.
