Chilled skiing holiday with 2 teens (all beginners) staying at the hotel.
Staff are really nice and helpful. We were all impressed by the food on HB even though the choice is small (1 starter, 2 mains and a pud) and when I asked a veggie option was always available . Children get a larger choice on a children’s menu.
Breakfast good as well, lots of healthy options and we all loved their bread and fresh fruit choices.
Rooms are everything you need but a comfy chair would be nice. The drying cupboard in the bathroom came in handy.
The resort/ hotel were perfect for us. We leave tomorrow feeling we might well come back one day and hope to be booking one of the apartments or chalets as we heard great things about them from other guests.
One word to describe this holiday CHILLED!
Visited this park in mid-October. The weather was ok, around 0C. The hiking trails are very well maintained. However, you do need to be cautious on the wooden steps and walkways, these can be very slippery, It is a beautiful park. We did not go skiing but the slopes looked very nice.
Lovely scenery. Great walking and lots of other activities around and about.
Ski slopes in summer are quiet
We particularly loved the canoeing with Puhä Safaris
We have just spent a lovely week in Pyha. We stayed in the Linna apartments which offer great ski in and ski out access. There are lots of blue slopes for beginners, which was great for me. The resort was lovely and quiet with very few people on the slopes.
The resort is small but there are several places to eat and a supermarket, which is a 10minute walk down the hill (but just remember you have to walk up again). I would highly recommend the resort for the quiet slopes and excellent scenery.
Pyhä is super skiing resort with long well maintained slopes and less people than in the other big resorts in Lapland. There is also plenty of ski in accomodation so you don’t need to worry about transportation.
Compact ski centre with excellent quality slopes.
Pyhä vs. other Lapland ski: compact size, you cannot get lost. Suitable for families and friend groups. Pyhä is more genuine comparing to mainstream larger places like Levi which is much like in the alps.
Pyhä vs. Alps: slopes stay all day in rock solid perfect condition, that is enormous benefit for all Lapland in general. Even in end of april, perfect condition all day. Less after ski bass, but if you are with friends in a log cabin, bars not much needed. Nearby Luosto has superb log cabins.
