My friend and I booked this package deal. The wilderness hotel ticked all the boxes. A four night stay.
A pleasure to have a caring, efficient group to look after us.
The accommodation was just what we needed. The restaurant was relaxed, three excellent meals a day. Enough choices of tasty food to satisfy our needs.

We had many trips included. What fun. Snowmobiling, snowshoeing, aurora camp, reindeer museum, photography night.

And the fun began when the Aurora alert went off while in bed. I was out in minutes. Pyjamas under our warm clothing that was given to us on arrival. Still there at 2.30 one morning.
I actually got some settings and help on an evening with a great photographer. Sorry forgot his name.

The most amazing night when I got many basic aurora captures and as I ended up on my own ran into the view and hey ho. Me in the capture. Not high quality but a start of my journey to capture these incredible sights!!!
I will be back as the bug is there.

Thank you Wilderness hotel for a delightful visit.

Fabulous staff and great activities in an unreal location near the northern lights, pictures included. Loved staying here, only downside to this hotel is that there’s no entertainment whatsoever so there’s absolutely nothing to do throughout the whole day until your activity at 9pm

Dear lucabalzanojones,

thank you for staying with us and writing this review regarding your stay with us.

We are happy to hear that you liked our hotel and you saw the northern lights during your visit to us.

We are sorry to hear that you didn't find anything to do during your free time when staying in the hotel.
We have some games in the hotel's lobby, WiFi, sauna, fat bikes and of course the other guests to catch up and change thoughts about the experiences in Finland. Thank you for the feedback since we can not know these issues if no one point them out. We are going to improve the facilities also in future.

It's still nice to hear that you enjoyed your staying and you are warmly welcome to visit us again if coming in Finland someday in future.

On the behalf of the staff,
Pirita

words cannot begin to express what a truly magnificent place this is, it has to be seen and experienced to believe. The journey from airport to hotel took about 30 - 40 minutes by minibus. Hotel room always warm, en suite bathroom, television, no tea / coffee making facilities but drinks available 8am - 9pm in self service restaurant (no additional cost). On arrival , after booking in, unpacking and self service buffet dinner was given hired outer clothing and boots to use for duration of trip. Also used helmets, balaclavas, snow shoes, poles dependent on activities. All meals self service breakfast from 8am, lunch from 12md, dinner from 6pm. Every meal the food was fantastic, plenty of choice eg. soups, cold and hot meats, fish, vegetarian dishes, plenty of vegetables, fresh salads, pasta, breads, fruit, yogurt, cereals, cheese, puddings etc and you could eat as much or as little as you wanted. Activities recommend - snowmobiling stopped for lunch cooked over outdoor fire, seen herd of wild reindeer moving across frozen lake. special thanks to guides Kimmo and Anthony . husky safari - drive own team of huskies which is like being in a formula one car, hang on ! a truly amazing experience special thanks to Astrid and her team. Also get to see all dogs at base kennels afterwards. Snowshoe walking through forest, in evening, to see Aurora and stopping for hot drinks made on campfire once again special thanks to kimmo for enriching this experience with his knowledge. also seen aurora by snowmobile. There are other activities available but, as we were on a short trip we didn't have time to do them. The hotel has a well stocked bar, comfortable seating areas to relax and have coffee. All reception staff were very helpful and everything well organised, special thanks to Linda. There is a shop on site where you can buy souvenirs, t shirts etc . Overall I would say this is the most amazing, life enriching place looked after by wonderful people and i'm so looking forward to going back.

My husband and I booked in for the 4 nights 5 day package with excursions included. We loved the hotel, location, facilities and staff were great and the food was even better. The excursions and tour guides were great and the activities were laid back with only small groups which was great. Stayed in the hotel for 3 nights and upgraded to the Auroa Cabin for the last night. Overall we loved the hotel/ holiday and would recommend to anyone. My only small criticisms were the cleaners were very noisy when cleaning other rooms, hovering and shouting all before 8am. (this happened only the one morning) I was also disappointed by the amount of plastic used by the hotel, with plastic cups in the room rather than glasses and plastic straws. I also didn't enjoy the paper cups for tea/coffee in the room instead of mugs. Also the Auroa cabin needs more storage, we were glad we only had this room one night as there wasn't enough space for all our clothes and suitcases.

I've stayed 8 days in this hotel with a friend and we absolutely loved everything about it. In the mainbuilding are the reception , the bar and the restaurant situated. We booked a hotelroom. It was spacious, had a good bathroom and comfy beds. Every 2 days cleaning service came by. The team is really friendly and we feld well there. We booked full meals and there was enough choice and a variety of meals. We ate so much! Delicious, Coffee, tea and water were included, Drinks are a bit expensive, we paid 7.50 euro for 1 glass of red wine.
All the acitivities were already booked and every evening entering the mainbuilding we found a list with our names and starttime on it for the next day. The guides were really professional and passionate about the nature, A special thanks to Anne, Nevis and Matti for the great tours and information!
We really liked the activities and did everything: snowshoe walking, crosscountry skiing, visiting the reindeerfarm ( a bit touristic, but despite that worth a visit), visiting the Sami-museym, Lappish dinner, snowmobiling, ice-fishing and my favourite: going on a huskysledge....what an amazing experience!!! We were very lucky to see the Northern Lights 4 times! The last time, dancing in green and pink. Indescribable! You really have to experience it. The hotel is wonderful situated at a lake. Beautiful area, We hired an Aurora Beeper for 30 euros per week and till 1 a.m. the hotel warned us. That happened 3 times during our stay.
This was for me a real bucketlisttrip and it was an experience of a lifetime!
