Very nice, first time but everything felt good. Didn’t need to search anything, everything where I expected. Very good breakfast. Free parking, very nice. We went to Varkaus theater, recommend that too. Katoamistemppu was superb show. Walking distance from hotel.

Wouldn’t be my choice of a hotel, if it wouldn’t be the only hotel in Varkaus.
The room was very worn out, smelled very very stale, there were stains in the curtains ans arm chair. Room was good size, but that’s about the good things about it. The pillows were so high, so I couldn’t use them for sleeping, had to use towel instead.
Reception staff was okay, but could have been nicer and more welcoming.
The best thing and big surprice of the hotel was very good breakfast buffet, with lot of selection in warm and cold dishes. It was better than in many quality hotels that I have been, so allthough the room was not what I would expect from a hotel, the breakfast was much more what I expected.

We have a lot of different rooms in many room categories and for next visit we recommend trying for example our renovated Prime Guest or Prime Superior rooms. We stayed one night in the Hotel Oscar. Hotel was very clean, breakfast was great and the staff was friendly. Our room was spaceous and cosy. We were very pleased and would happily stay at Hotel Oscar again. 6/5

We ended up here more or less by chance, but had noted that this place gets good reviews. We enjoyed our stop over. We chose an air conditioned room, which was great on a nice hot Finnish summer day. The room was rather spacious, in a nice modern style, and very clean. Front staff was friendly and professional. The hotel also has a nice restaurant in the lobby, with many classic dishes on the menu, and friendly service. Can really be recommended, as well.

We had a standard twin room for our overnight stay. It was our first in Hotel Oscar, but will not be the last.
The room was tidy and even though it showed some signs of wear, everything worked as expected. It was also pleasantly quiet, we never heard a sound from other residents.
We had dinner at the restaurant downstairs. The service was great and the food magnificent. Appetizer salad was well seasoned, the stakes we had as main were perfectly medium rare and creme brule with sherbet was the perfect finishing touch to a great meal.
Breakfast was also nice, with a sufficient variety of cold cuts, pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon and frankfurters to get you going at the start of the day.
