Hotel is located in a very central part of Varberg so it's easy to walk around the cozy city. Parking is free on a nearby schoolyard. Reception had some new staff who didn't really know how to answer our questions about spa etc. but they were very friendly.

Best part of the hotel is the atmosphere: everything looks and feels royal. The room was luxorious with soundsystem on the ceiling (you could play music from your phone), soft bed, amazing decoration and vast selection of toiletries. Wifi didn't really work in the room though.

That is why it was dissapointing to realize that other parts didn't really reach the same quality. Free "relax" area included 2 lousy saunas built in plastic boxes - steam one didn't work and smelled like mould. There were barely room for two families at the same time, no towels and floor wet. Breakfast was boring and they were out of most food. My companion is allergic to nuts and he couldn't even have butter because it was placed right next to peanut butter!

All in all, this is a nice hotel if you like to just relax in the room and maybe it something outside.

Thank you so much for you stay and your review!
Happy to hear that you enjoyed your room and most facilities, and sorry that you experienced our relax (which is a smaller complement to our spa-department), that is more for guests that want at shorter relax in a sauna or just to use the relax department (and/or massage charis), but of course they should work properly and not smell. We will take a look at that as well as how peanut butter is placed, sorry about that. Still - hope to see you again in the future - wish you most welcome back to us, and maybe you will have the time to try our spa that time. Thank you so much and welcome back!
Best regards/ Bo Samuelsson

Very nice, friendly staff, room that I was in had too much stuff in it for the size - no room to swing a cat, but of a very high standard. If rooms were a little more sparse it would be a lot better. I need 200 characters

Thank you so much for you stay and kind words - really happy that you enjoyed!
We have pretty many different styles and sizes of our rooms, some are smaller - some bigger, hope to see you again soon and that we can present a more suitable room. Thank you so much and welcome back!

I have spent two nights here, and am impressed with the service, the quality and comfort of the rooms, and the food services. I wouldn't call it a great value, but it is a pretty solid value. People are nice, helpful, and pretty knowledgeable, and the spa does offer a wide range of services. One warning, and it is not a complaint but only a warning, is that the parking is 5-7 minutes walk away, no problem on a sunny day but in rain or cold be prepared for the walk. Certainly cannot complain about free parking, however.

Doug - thank you so much for your stay and rewiew! Makes us really glad that you enjoyed achieved service as well as facilities. And sorry about the parking, it is an issue for us but we are working on a better solution closer to the hotel (takes time though...). Pretty recently we have 8 parking places for electric vehicles ready, so for guest who has and want to charge we can offer that - and this is pretty close to the hotel. Still, I understand it doesn't really help a lot... :-) .
Thank you very much and hope to see you again soon!

We booked a asia room with spa, dinner, breakfast, spa, lunch and spa again.
It was a very simple information about the hotel and spa so you have to take a walk around and all the places in this bid hotel. A very very nice hotel and with a very good service. sunday afternoon a little bit to much people. Dinner in the evening was very good and perfect service. Monday morning not so much people and you can go to every part of the Asia spa. Wonderful and very nice after a big big breakfast.Lunch was also superb and some choice of food.
If you will have something extra, go to this hotel.

The hotell has more than a 100 years of history. It has an interesting combination of the old style in the building and some rooms being really super-modern with high-tech solutions. The spa is very relaxing and you can choose between several possibilities. However, you keep the given "Japanese" dress on when walking in the corridors (dress-code) and try to not make too much disturbing sounds when doing this. Food is excellent, but as in all "luxury" places not very much. Staff is really friendly.

Room Tip: Not a lot of traffic, and you have double doors - so the room is very quite.
