We booked a two night stay here following a Baltic cruise. We booked a Superior Water View room. When we arrived, the room was not ready so we went into Stockholm until 1 pm. When we returned, we were shown to a room on the second floor. However, we were told that the hotel was under construction and that the restaurant was closed and there would be workers during our stay. We had a $75 restaurant credit through American Express and were told we would have to use Room Service to get any food. We went to the room which had a nice view, but immediately noticed that the a/c was not working. The safe did not close, kept giving error messages, the bathroom shower head was missing a part and squirted water all over the bathroom, and the USB ports for charging phones and ipads had no power. We turned on the a/c and went into town, thinking it would cool the room down when we were gone. Not so. By 8 pm that night, the room was at least 85 degrees. I went down to the desk to talk about it and the man gave me a fan. We spent a sleepless, hot night in the room. Since we had the food credit, we placed and order with room service. Since we had no way to eat in the hotel restaurant which was closed, we had to use room service. We were upset to see that we were charged 85 KR service charge for room service despite the fact that we did not have a choice but to eat in the room. One order was completely wrong and we had to walk it down to the front desk and ask for someone from the kitchen to come out. They remade the order, but it took 20 minutes and by that time the other dinner was cold and the ice cream was melted. When we asked the server if service was included, he said, "Not for me, you have to tip me." Great - more money for nothing. The next morning we went down to the desk and asked for another room. They said it would be difficult. But they did find us another room and said we should go get breakfast while they made sure it was ready. We asked if breakfast was included with our room and he said yes. We ate and went back to the desk and were escorted to a room two down from our original room. It was cooler so we moved in. We spent the day in Stockholm and came back and, while it was cooler, it still was not cool enough. We used the fan that night. During the night, we realized that construction was going on all night. When we got downstairs to check out the next morning, we realized that an entire area had been added to the hotel just down from our room on the outside of the building. We were told that the hotel had one week to complete this construction and that the workers had to work 24/7 too complete it. We checked out and were charged for the breakfast we had been told was included. They took it off the bill when we complained, but they would not removed the 85KR service charge for the room service. We paid almost $300 a night for this hotel room. There was absolutely NO indication when we booked, on the website or through American Express that construction was going on in the hotel. The noise and construction debris was obvious. The lack of food service or a restaurant made this comparable to a no service hotel. But, worst of all, the rooms lacked the basic amenities that one would expect - working a/c, a working shower, electricity and a safe. We are extremely upset at being taken advantage of by Radisson. While the desk agents attempted to be positive, it did not make up for a horrible experience. Before you book this hotel, make sure the construction is done.
