Pros: nice location that is slightly away from the noise of the city, but still close enough (a 5 minute walk) to the center of town. We did not need to take any cabs or public transportation to get around the city during out stay, but still felt like we had a quiet place to go home to. flexible and kind staff. Cons: multiple buildings, and may have to walk outside to get to room from reception. small lobby without a sitting area, and also slightly removed, so have to walk outside a bit to access the road/cabs to airport. the building itself was clean and had an interesting, modern style, but felt a bit dark. since we were on the ground floor, we could see people walking right outside of our windows, and had to constantly keep them shuttered. gym was incredibly small.

The hotel is on the far side of an island, walking distance from anywhere downtown. The restaurant was great. The beds were comfortable. The restroom amenities were incredible. We walked all over, and this hotel was in a quiet location... but had enough happening in the lobby and in the restaurant to keep us interested. We really enjoyed it.

Slightly hidden away on the island of Skeppsholmen, this hotel is within 15 minutes walk of the centre (a 200Kr taxi ride from the train station), which gives enough distance to separate you from the crowds, whilst still enjoying a great location (the Modern Museum is just over the road and the ferry to the museum island is three minutes away). It has a low profile also in the sense that it has been built out of two long low ex-barracks. This does mean however that the main eating area/bar can get a bit squashed at times (i.e. breakfast). That said, this is a high end hotel, classy without being branded. Highly recommended for a break away.

Room tip: There are land and water views.

Just had a short three night break at this hotel having booked with BA in a short break package.

On arrival we were told that our room had been upgraded to a sea view. The hotel is tastefully decorated and furnished and successfully blends the old with the contemporary.

The rooms are comfortable, and the bathroom nicely finished, although the design of the shower meant that the floor always got soaked with water.

The continental breakfast was delicious with quality food options and the location, ok a quiet island which is in easy walking distance of the city. (Or you can catch the ferry!)

Definitely recommended!

I would definitely stay here again. We sampled two rooms (BA cancelled our flight, so we returned to the hotel), one on the first floor and one on the second (attic) floor. Both had lovely sea views and were very pleasant, slightly eccentric and very clean. The beds are very comfortable and the showers are excellent. The basins in the bathrooms are weird, but they work. In particular, I was delighted to see the wooden floors -- I hate wall-to-wall carpets in hotel rooms. The staff at reception were very helpful and we enjoyed getting the ferry to the Vasa museum (note that Skeppsholmen is a request stop - you need to press a button at the ferry stop). One thing worth noting is that the 65 bus starts late and stops relatively early, so although it's useful while its running, it's no good to get to the railway station if you're catching an early-ish flight. The Moderna Museet (highly recommended) is about a 2 minute walk away, and Gamla Stan is about 15 minutes.
