We were staying on Bellevue beach at Klampenburg so didn't have far to walk to the park. It is well worth a walk around and has a nice old street with a traditional barber and shops. I had a go on Galoppen which is identical to my favourite fairground game in the UK. There are lots of places to eat and its nice to walk in the deer park too. If you are staying nearer Tivoli and have no interest in the beach or deer park then it may not be worth the journey. Entry is free with the Copenhagen card and train travel there is also free.

Take the train or take a car and drive north to the Bakken amusement park. Parking cost, but there is no entrance fee. Each ride is carefully adjusted to the kinds of all ages, making it simple to see who can try what - the parents can relax and let the kinds go bananas if they have a tour pass.

The plethora of restaurants and cafes makes it very easy to eat and drink, though many people also bring their own foodd Perhaps not the biggest amusement park, but definitely woth checking out.

What I personally like is the relaxed, laid back athmosphere.

Bakken is well worth a trip, especially with your children, as most of the rides cater towards children in the 3-12 age bracket. easily reached by train from copenhagen (get off at Klampenborg), there are lots of traditional Danish food options, as well a beautiful park that the amusement park is located in that is excellent for walks through the ancient forest, as well as picnics. In addition, a horse drawn carriage ride around the park is a nice addition as well

We took the train to Klampenborg to experience a proper Danish amusement park and see something slightly off the beaten tourist track. The park was definitely mainly filled with local people and there was a very pleasant atmosphere as we strolled around amongst the variety of games and rides in the park. As the sterling to Krone exchange rate is particularly poor for us we couldn't bring ourselves to fork out for too many rides but we did have a go on the large wooden roller coaster in the middle of the park and had a great time on it. The wristbands are probably the best thing to do if you are going to partake in a number of rides and plenty of kids seemed to have these.

The amusement park is set within a large deer park which seemed to offer a variety of walks so there appears to be plenty to do even if not interested in the funfair. The train from Copenhagen took around 15 minutes.
