Enjoyed 4 nights in this lovely hotel. I booked online saying I’d prefer a double to a twin as I was celebrating my birthday with my husband. On arrival we found we’d been upgraded to a king size bed in a good sized room. Furthermore there was a small gift of yummy Summerbird chocolate almonds with a lovely note from the Reception staff wishing me a wonderful birthday. A lovely touch, thank you! We arrived just in time for the daily ‘cozy hour’ in the lobby (5-6pm) where we enjoyed a free wine and beer. One night it included live music which was excellent. The hotel is set back from the road so is quiet. Our room overlooked the courtyard. Room was spotless. Free tea (Earl Grey) was yummy. Plenty of room in the wardrobe which included a free safe. The only downside was the bathroom. Size was fine, free toiletries a bonus but it smelled of bad drains when we first arrived, the shower curtain kept sticking to my body and the water went over most of the bathroom. Didn’t try the breakfast as it felt expensive (DKK 175 each) and there were plenty of eateries nearby. However it did sound (and smelled!) lovely and I loved their ethos (organic, local, seasonal etc). Enjoyed a lovely latte in the lobby and the free fruit (apples) in Reception also a nice touch. Free luggage area if you're departing later in the day.

Thank you so much for your lovely words. We love when our guests enjoy staying with us.

So happy that you appreciated our birthday greeting :)

We are constantly renovating the rooms - including bathrooms. At the moment we are projecting on new bathrooms in our main building and we do take all feedback from our guests into consideration when planning the bathroom lay-out.

Thank you also for mentioning our breakfast buffet. It is made with love and consits of mostly nordic and organic produce. We did spend a lot of time developing this new type of hotel breakfast buffet - it is not considered expensive compared to other Copenhagen hotel buffets. But you are also right that we have Torvehallerne - the food market almost next door.

Welcome back.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here over New Year. The hotel is lovely and in a great location, all the staff went out of their way to be helpful when we had questions about attractions etc. Our room was spacious and faced the courtyard, very nicely decorated, comfortable beds and immaculately clean (even under the beds!). Loved the cozy hour with a free glass of wine :) would definitely stay here again.

This is a very nice hotel with nice rooms and nice staff, a very nice breakfast with real bread (!).
But the bathroom is absolutely useless. The shower reminds me of my student times in Scotland- there are tiny amounts of water coming out of the shower head and these vary in temperature... I politely complained yesterday. This changed nothing and was not commented upon either, thus this seems to be house standard.
Although there is plenty of room in the bathroom they managed to position shower, toilet and sink so awkwardly you can only use one at a time if you are in the bathroom together.

Thank you for your review.

Thank you for your praise about the hotel, staff and our breakfast. It is highly appreciated.

We are so sorry to hear that you did not like the bathroom. Of course, it is absolutely not OK that no action was taken after your complaint. This is not common practice and it is not our house standard. I will talk to our manager about that.

Regarding the bathroom in general - we do take all your feed back into consideration when we are updating the room. We are in progress renovating bathrooms one by one.

We hope to welcome you back again.

We stayed 4 nights over New Year in Copenhagen.
We had 2 rooms, which were not able to be given together on the same floor which was disappointing.

Our double room was on the 4th floor, and the bathroom had been modernised, and had a glass shower screen. The room itself had beams in it from the ceiling which we had to be careful of walking around the bed.
Our girls were given a twin room on the 3rd floor, the bathroom was much older with just a shower curtain.
The hotel is walking distance from the Norreport station which is on the line from the airport. We took the train both to and from the airport.

The 'Cosy Hour' provided by the hotel is a nice touch if you happen to be back in the hotel at that time. Usually beer and wine, but on New Years Eve, champagne was served.

We only had breakfast on New Years Day as it was expensive, but the breakfast buffet choices were very good, both hot and cold, and champagne was served at breakfast because it was New Year.

The Torvehallerne is a wonderful food market only a couple of minutes walk towards the Norreport station, and we had breakfast there on the other days. Great coffee and plenty of cake choices! This market has such a lovely feel to it, both in the morning and evenings.

In all, we enjoyed our stay, and would stay again if we found ourselves in Copenhagen.

Thank you so much for this lovely review. It is very nice to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us.

We always do our best to allocate our guests, when travelling together, on the same floor. When we are fully booked, it can be a challenge and sometimes we do not succeed - as in your case. We are sorry for that.

We are constantly renovating the rooms and you were allocated in a room with a newly renovated bathroom. And we are currently planning the next bathroom renovations.

Also, thank you for the nice words about our breakfast buffet.
Regarding the price for the breakfast buffet - in Copenhagen it is not considered expensive compared to other hotel buffets in Copenhagen. Our buffet is made of mainly organic and local produce. When you eat our breakfast - you can often skip the lunch :)

We would love to welcome you back next time you visit Copenhagen.

For the money we paid this was a really good choice. Conveniently placed near the center and close to lots of eating places - although be aware of your budget as Copenhagen is expensive. The staff were friendly and helpful and the cosy hour is a nice touch and set in a pleasant reception/bar area. The only negative I have was the room. It was pretty old fashioned and basic, but as I said, perhaps for the price I paid I couldn't expect much more.

Thank you for your nice words.

Regarding the rates - they are following demand, therefore you might have experienced high rates. If you search for a room at different dates, you will find that some days are much more affordable than others.

We are updating the hotel continuously, and this means that there are some variations over the property and our 155 rooms. In this process we of course listen to our guest’s feedback.

If you do not like the room it is always possible to change room.

We hope to welcome you again.
