This Summer (2018) I wanted to visit Copenhagen with my family. I chose this particular Hotel for my accomodation. Here are my remarks.
POSITIVE POINTS (+)
1) It is located BY the Central train station, so if you are coming in the city by plane, or train, it is easy to find it. It is close to TIVOLI, the market of Copenhagen, and a small walking distance (about 20 minutes) from Nyhavn, the famous attraction of the city.
2) It was THE ONLY accomodation (concerning the amount of about 200 Euros/per night) around, close to the Train Station, that provided me a room with a double bed for the couple, and two bunk beds for the kids. Other hotels, offered couches, or to book two rooms, which was not preferred from us.
3) The staff. The personnel at the front desk were smiley, and ready to listen to our questions, answer them and provide information useful for us.
4) The room. Though we were four, and stayed four nights it was OK. Not big, but and not tiny.
NEGATIVE POINTS (-)
1) Because we were situated at the back side of the hotel at a lower level (2nd floor) almost each morning we were woken up at 6-7 o clock in the morning by the garbage collectors who were very noisy performing their task. This was because is was Summer, the room had NO air condiotion, and had to leave the windows open to cool during the night.
2) The breakfast. Moderate in quantity, quality, variety.
3) The bathroom. Too small and not convenient to accomodate 4 persons.
4) The payment. When checking in, the hotel held as an insurance an amount exceeding the total stay expense, with no notification at the check out when this insurance will be <<released>>. Till now the 13th of July, still the amount is held.
5) Cooling. There should be at least a fan in the room. Because the weather was hot in Copenhagen, we kept the windows open all night to cool. What if there were mosquitos, or ...criminal thoughts by someone?
OVERALL. If you are a family of four, it is a good choice. If you are a company of two, there are and other options, maybe not at the same price level, but at least you have an option.

Dear ΝΙΚΟΛΑΟΣ Δ,

Thank you very much for your candid review of your recent stay at our hotel. Your feedback is extremely valuable to us, as we strive to improve with each and every stay.

I really appreciate that you took time to give us such a comprehensive review with lots of comments.

A pleasure to read that you enjoyed the central location - right in the heart of the Copenhagen, as well as the service from our Front Office team and that you got a great room.

For the negative comments I will bring it all to the next management meeting and make sure we look into every single point and see how we can improve even further from here.

Regarding the deposit, you need to contact your bank. We realise the full amount right after check-out and are not able to hold it any longer than that. This is quite a normal procedure here and we would be happy to assist you any further regarding this. Please contact us directly if you need answers to any questions.

It would be such a pleasure to welcome you back at our hotel in the future.

With much appreciation,
David Simpson, Guest Relations

The location was better than expected, arrived late at night and had to walk 2 mins to reach the hotel. The correct exit gate makes all the difference, exit opposite the Tivoli exit.
The room initially allotted was small, and nothing like the pictures, next morning they changed to a better room but on the roadside and we had a street light just outside, the curtains do not keep the light out.

The staff at the reception is helpful and provided us a fan too. Breakfast is decent.
I would stay in this place again.

Room Tip: take and room on inner side, quieter and less light. Avoid fire escape rooms they are small

We actually booked another hotel in Copenhagen, but a couple hours before check in time, Expedia told us that the hotel was overbooked. So they sent us to this hotel. The location is about 10 minutes walking to the central train station, and very near major roads and grocery stores. The hotel is old but clean and functional.

This hotel’s main advantage is it is located just walking distance of the central station and is in the city centre. It is a three star hotel with very few amenities that international travellers must have accustomed to. But it is neat and clean and also has a cloak room to store your baggage if you need to check out but have lot of time before your flight. The staff are friendly and helpful about all your queries on restaurants, sight seeing info. Etc.

I stayed here for two nights. I loved the location. It is centrally located and just a short walk from the Central Train Station and Tivoli Gardens and the main tourist office. Just watch for pick pocketers. About the hotel. It is a no-frills hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was what I expected: it had the necessities, and the bed was very comfortable. Likewise the bathroom was what I expected--a shower (no tub) and sink with a small shelf. the shower curtain was too inches two short so the floor got wet with each shower. One has to wonder why the curtain wasn't replaced or the shower rod lowered. The room was clean and very adequate for a short stay. The breakfast was fine: it was a selection of breads, cheeses, eggs, sausage, fruit yogurt, cereal, etc. I do not eat meat and felt as though there were plenty of options. Just don't expect Parisian cuisine. Drinks are available for purchase from the desk, which was nice. I had a glass of wine in the lounge and chatted with the night clerk. I'd stay here again. I am a solo traveler and felt safe at the Copenhagen Star. I think overall I'd rate it as three-star hotel. It did not promise to be a fancy place, but I felt delivered what it promised.

Dear DrDeborah,

Thank you very much for your very candid review of your recent stay at our hotel. Your feedback is extremely valuable to us, as we strive to improve with each and every stay.

A pleasure to read that you enjoyed the central location - right in the heart of Copenhagen, at the popular and hip Vesterbro area as well as the Meatpacking district.

It is also a pleasure to inform you that we will be doing a light updating in the rooms and the bathrooms, this also means glass doors and greater rainshowers in the bath.

In taking great care of our charming hotel, our main priority is to be able to offer a very well-maintained and comfortable atmosphere.

It would be such a pleasure to personally welcome you back at our hotel.
