I stayed here with my wife and two daughters (age 7 and 10). We all had a very nice time. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the amenities of the hotel are a great value. The swimming pool is great for all ages, you have access to free bowling (minus cost of shoe rental), and a free breakfast. I'd recommend it to anyone with kids in Copenhagen.

It's also a short walk to the train station and Tivoli so the location is tough to beat for the price.

Arrived on a early flight so as we reached to the hotel we were asked to return at 14:00 but could leave our luggage in storage which was nice. Came back at checked in, staff were pleasant and friendly. Went to the rooms which were nice and had all you need for an few nights. The use of the pool facilities and bowling are great too. Great location to explore the city from. Few minutes from the train station and with easy walking distance to tivoli, carlsberg museum and bus links. Would stay here again and would recommend this hotel to families, couples, single travellers and any one else.

We stayed for for two nights - dad and son on a weekend-trip. We prioritized two qualities in our search for a hotel to stay in; location and swimming-pool. DGI delivers splendid on both accounts.

However: I will not recommend a stay in this hotel if you require fresh air / cold air. Early December it is quite cold outside, so we could open the window for some air - but for some reason the danes doesn't build in windshields o.a., which means that rains pours in our room during night-time. The hotel needs to insert some sort of functional ventilation.

Breakfast or meals are served in an adjourned building - I would recommend a canopy of sorts so that you didn't have to dress for a storm before breakfast,... (The breakfast is however very nice, and healthy!)

The bowling; You can't book time ahead the next day, so you need to get early to the reception for making reservations. It shouldn't be a problem for the staff to inform us about this, rather than learning early Saturday morning that "sorry, all available times are fully booked!".

The staff varies between very helpful and pleasing, to "oh my god, another customers who wants something from me...Bugger off!" Unfortunately, the latter often dominates your impression from your stay.

To conclude: DGI is half the price of the best hotel in Copenhagen (d'Angleterre). Value for money stipulates that this is a allright place to stay. We wanted to stay close to Vesterbro (for restaurants) and Tivoli etc., and thats why this is the location to go for. If your interests lay elsewhere - for instance shopping and sights, you would perhaps be better of with a hotel closer to Kongens Nytorv.

We stayed here for 3 nights in a large room for 2 adults, plus 2 kids.
The hotel is modern, clean and well equipped. It’s not “boutique” with more of a “modern in the 90’s vibe” and for us it worked great. The pool was really good, we enjoyed the bowling and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful.
A real plus for the kids was “buffet breakfast” served in a really nice, modern facility.
The location can’t be beaten. It’s a short walk to the meat packing district, close to Tivoli and very handy for the station.
I agree with some of the comments - you can hear trains at night - but this is a “city centre” location ...
Finally, compared to other hotels in Copenhagen this one is very reasonably priced.

I booked and payed for bowling and we had to wait for 40 minutes to get a Lane. But after 50 min our Lane was still not Free so we didnt have time then to play and we had to leave so we wanted to cancel our booking and get a refund. But they refused any refund even though we had not had a chance to start to play. 200 Danish crowns down the drain to feed the greedy bastards at DGI.
