One out of two tiny elevators shut down while we were there because some people couldn't listen to the 300kg max-rule. If you're a plus-size person you might be more comfortable at a larger hotel, with newer elevators.
The service from the staff was impeccable. The room had some old trash in it, and the toilets clogged a lot, but the staff fixed it. If you're sound-sensitive, ask for a bedroom facing the tenniscourt - we had no problems with noise in our family room.

Copenhagen is a expensive city, , even so 200 euros a day, seems to be a bit expensive, once the hotel need some reform ( for ex bathroom} , the front rooms suffer with noisy from the trains below the windows, same guests (not me) may have trouble specially if you are a light sleeper. The room has double glasses but not enough.

I picked the Mercur based on cost and location - 10-15 minutes walk from the Central Station and similar to Tivoli/shops and restaurants. The room was comfortable and beds were also comfy. Staff all very helpful. Decor-wise maybe a lick of paint and change of carpets would be in order, but it's a good hotel if you want to balance cost and convenience.

There are lots of positives about this hotel, which I'll list below:
1. Value for money
2. Location - just next to Vesterbro station and within minutes to central station on foot, cafes, restaurants and groceries
3. Excellent staff and attentive housekeeping
4. Good continental breakfast with cold cuts, cheese, sausages, eggs, coffee, tea and juices
5. Clean and comfy bed
6. Really liked having a safe to keep my stuff, shower gel, shoe polish, coffee and tea in the room, a place to work on and a t.v.

A few things to improve for the hotel:
1. Ensure that the moldy spots in the shower are removed, which could be done using bleach spray
2. Ensure that the ear plugs have not been used and put back by the previous guest. Of course, you can always request new ear plugs.
3. Wifi was choppy at times but good enough to get stuff done.

Tips for guests:
1. There is a tennis court on the inside facing rooms but ear plugs are available.
2. If you don't like the traffic noise, you can always get the tennis court facing room.
3. Ensure that the ear plugs are still in a sealed plastic wrapper before using them.
4. There is no a.c. but there is heating. The windows can be opened for fresh air.

I'd definitely stay there again and would recommend it for anyone.

First of all, hotel Mercur is very conviently located. Only ten minutes walk from Central station and Tivoli. Our room was quite small and so was the bathroom. And the luggage room was really full of luggages so we had hard time finding ours.
The staff was friendly and helpful.
We had nice view of the old, colourful circus building.

Room tip: We were on the third floor and it was very quiet even it was next to busy street.
