This beautiful castle is not particularly large but has the Danish crowns in the treasury in the cellars and the Rosenberg tapestries on the top floor. At present the middle floor is closed for renovations. 1/3 less to see but not 1/3 less in cost.

Fascinating to view the Danish Crown Jewels and some beautiful jewellery in the Treasury. The castle itself is set in beautiful grounds but close to the station and other museums. It is smaller than expected but it was lovely to stroll round the rooms and get a sense of the history of the country. Each room was so different but plenty of information without overload!

We went mainly to see the Crown Jewels, but were entranced by the rest of the building. The rooms are very well preserved if a little dusty in places. The porcelain and glass rooms were especially good. Would recommend buying a guide book before looking around as many of the exhibits simply had numbers and no explanation

There are some great tapestries in the castle but (if you forgive the pun) the jewel in the crown is in the basement. The Crown Jewels are superb.
