Lovely beers, nice atmosphere, lovely staff, fab decor! Great little find in Copenhagen thanks to Trip Advisor. Great to come in from the cold to a warm pub and good pint.

English run bar in the centre of Copenhagen. Interesting range of beers, many English. Lively atmosphere. Unique decor. Recommended.

Great little bar just a short walk from the Strøget. The place is small, but very cozzy! There is a good amount of different beers, from lokal danish beer to from abroard. The prices are regular cobenhagen prices...most deffently a visit worthey

I have been to Charlie's Bar / Pub too many times to count. Just to set the scene - it is a small, English pub with non traditional Danish beers located in the heart of Copenhagen. It doesn't serve mainstream beer, pub food or try to be some famous hard rock wanna be from the 90s

It's charm - is its authenticity. It forces you to sit or stand with strangers and talk to them something our society needs to do more. Sometimes the bar is crowded and I need to come back another day so be it. I always take people from out of town to Charlie's as it leaves a great and lasting impression.

The staff is friendly, the beer is great with traditional pull caskets and other types of beer. When Danes talk about "hygge" I believe the very essence of it is captured in a busily dimmed lit Charlie's Bar, with a few friends and strangers talking about life, religion, family, culture or just telling silly jokes.

Enjoy it as it's unique...

Take a trip to Charlie's on a Saturday or Sunday in the late afternoon, step out the rain or in from the heat of the sun (lol) throw down your shopping and order a pint of real ale, perfectly served, with the Cask Marque certificate proudly hanging. Join in the banter at the bar or just sit at the window and watch Copenhagen rush by. An oasis in the world of super trendy bars with ultra hoppy IPAs in Charlie's you get to choose from 6 always changing cask ales from some of the most interesting British breweries.

If real ale ain't your thing there's a selection of the 21 hand picked stouts, ciders, weissbeer or keg beers. There's no music, no TV showing sport, nobody ordering soy milk latte, just beer lovers making out with their favourite pint. Crisps, nuts and the occasional pickled egg on sale , but you can bring your own food if you want. It's a popular place so if you get there on a Friday night at 5 pm you can squeeze in, as many do and enjoy the atmosphere, but for me early evenings and quiet afternoons are best to chat with the bar staff or the regulars, who can be spotted with their tankards.

People make pilgrimages to this place from all over Denmark and further afield and you just need to spend some time here to see why. It's all about the beer, the quality and the service and the staff will do what they can to ensure you get a beer you enjoy. They are evangelical about good beer, served properly. Whether you are passing through or a local it's worth a visit for sure.
