Good range of beers, including the all-important cask ales (essential if you don't care for lager) and an authentic small pub feel to it. A very welcome place to visit if you like drinking bitter, but also if you just want to sit in the pub and chat without having your ears assaulted. It even sells pickled eggs!

We usually avoid English and Irish bars when away, but our friends recommended this English bar and we were not disappointed - they have a great selection of different beers and locals advised us it was one of the best in the patch near the hotel. We met a bunch of very friendly Copenhageners on our second visit who we chatted with for ages and they helped us with our Danish words! Definitely worth a visit!

There are very few places to get cask ale in Denmark, and this is the crown jewel of the bunch. Small but cozy, great service and small talk, friendly atmos, and a wide and ever changing selection of cask ales, selected for their harmony and quality by the knowledgeable British owner. The bar also offers carbonated specialty beers on tap from around the world, as well as some select ciders.

Located in the center of town, it is most conveniently placed for the weary walker, and a true oasis for its many regulars (who, mysteriously, all seem to be academics of all sorts). No annoying music, no annoying TV screen, just a bar, comfy seating and a couple of restrooms. Clean, top ales, non-smoking (that's what the street is for), quiet if you want it, but also open for friendly chatter, this is my favourite place for a beer in the world!

I am a local business school teacher from Copenhagen, and have no ties to Charlie's Bar, other than I love it!

To my knowledge Charlie,s was the first bar in Denmark to offer traditional Real Ale. I have been here tons of times but last night I had the pleasure of taking some of my overseas Family for a nitecap.

We were Lucky as they had to change a Keg while we were there, thats a full show with cranes in the ceiling remote controls and all - very industrial and very cool to experience.

Whats on the tap you never known cause alot of the brews are only one keg and when thats done you have to go with another, but thats the cool way for a freehouse the way it should be actually.

They also offer a taste sample so yo wont get something in your class you will not like.

Was advised by a friend that Charlie's bar is well worth a visit, and he was right. A good selection of English ales, well kept and in good condition; complimented by a selection of Danish and European beers.
The staff are well trained, polite and know their beers.
If you like ale, strongly suggest a visit.
