This is an honest review. I am 54, self employed, and have walking difficulties due to awaiting double hip replacement.

We booked a weeks holiday through Voyageprive.com for a great price. We flew into Athens a 45 minute taxi ride to Pireaus Port (Thanks George), then 1 hour 15 on the Seacat to Poros where we were picked up by the hotel driver.

I was a little concerned about all the various parts coming together but everything ran like clockwork. The organisation between the hotel and travel company was superb for both outward and return journeys.

On arrival we were given a complimentary drink while our bags were taken to the room. My instant impression was how lovely all the staff were. When we were taken to our room it was as we expected. The room was a fair size, plenty of storage space, the bathroom was well presented and clean and the shower was the usual set up in Greece of of shower curtain and hand held shower head. The room had individual controlled air conditioning, a free safe, TV (never been sure why anyone wants to watch TV on holiday) and free WiFi. If I had one improvement that could be made it would be tea / coffee making facilities but it was nothing our travel kettle couldn't handle. When we drew back the curtains and went on the balcony WOW what an amazing view and sitting on the balcony watching the sunset each evening was brilliant.

Breakfast on the restaurant balcony provided another amazing view of Poros Town and the Greek mainland. There was plenty of choice for breakfast, various fruits, cakes, cerials, fresh juices, choice of breads, croissants, cheeses and cold meat as well as bacon, sausages and eggs. The reviews saying breakfast was repetitive or lacking choice make me wonder what some people expect for breakfast. The girls serving coffee etc at breakfast were all happy smiling faces and attentive.

As I mentioned I walk with aid of a stick and the beach is approximately 150 / 200 metres from the hotel down an attractive path through the pines along the edge of the sea. The path is paved and easy to walk even for me. There are a couple of walls you can sit on if you need a rest. Do not be put off by the comment that it maybe hard for anyone 55+. There were plenty of people well over that age on the beach and in all honesty if I could manage the walk each day anyone can.

As for the beach I have seen a couple of reviews complaint about music. If it ever was a problem it certainly isn't now. We were on the beach all 7 days and the only music played is what I would call relaxation music at low volume and after 5 minutes you forgot it was even there. Unfortunately due to the timing of our holiday the main Calypso Bar was closed on the beach but the smaller bar was open and although the prices were about an euro more than most places, you expect that on a beach. You could still order food at the bar (sandwiches burgers etc) which was brought down from the hotel. The beach itself has approximately 30 beds on it and free towels are supplied at hotel reception. The beach setting is stunning with pine trees right down to the seafront. We both took beach / swim shoes which were getting over the pebbles right on the sea line. Swimming is really safe with no currents and the sea makes you really buoyant.

As part of our booking we had a complimentary 3 course meal and the food was of a tremendous standard as was the service. Looking across the sea to Poros Town all lit up was lovely and I don't think you could find a better view on the island.

All of the staff at the hotel from the cleaners to the ladies on the front reception desk are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. They all give you the impression that it is more than just a job for them and they form a team that work very hard to give holiday makers a relaxing stress free holiday. I did not once see staff be rude or disrespectful to anybody as a review implied. They were more than happy to book taxis and arrange car hire if required.

Getting around is really easy although the bus no longer runs. Taxis into Poros Town were around 5 euros and 4 euros coming back. That's because the taxi operator charges extra for phone bookings.if you are reasonably fit you could walk to the town in around 20 minutes. The hotel can arrange quad bike and scooter hire. Quads were 25 euros a day. There is plenty of choice of restaurants and cafe's in town. Our favourites were Ocean Taverna and Grande Cafe for coffee, crepes, waffle etc.
The average price of a meal for two was round 30 euros (£13.00) with drinks which I thought was very reasonable. The cafe's are a great place to sit and watch the world go by. Also to admire some of the amazing Super Yachts moored up. The people of Poros are incredibly friendly and no one hassles you.

This was our 1st visit to Poros and I would not have changed a thing. If you are a normal everyday person looking for a relaxing, chill out holiday in a hotel with views you would find hard to beat anywhere then this is the hotel for you. If you are the type of person who instead of enjoying an amazing holiday worry that the painting may not be perfectly cut in, go elsewhere, but it will be your loss. There was a wedding while we were there and if you are thinking of a wedding abroad you could do a lot worse.

To sum it this hotel up I would say it is a hotel in truly spectacular surroundings with staff who are a credit to the hotel. It was the most relaxing holiday I have ever had. Thank you to all at the Poros Image Hotel and we look forward to our next visit

First of all we did not stay in this hotel. we just dined in its outdoor restaurant and had some drinks at the outdoor bar. The hotel seems small at the beginning at its entrance but it is big and offers the best view of poros island you could ever imagine. The bar and the restaurant were of good quality and the prices are low. We regretted not having stayed in this hotel. Instead we chose a cheaper hotel but I believe now that it would have been worth the money staying in Xenia image. Even if you do not stay here, just visit the bar or the restaurant to enjoy the best view over the poros island! I am telling you, it is just amazing. Dont miss it.

Room Tip: the poros view is just unbeatable

Very nice revamped hotel from the 60's; nested in a Mediterranean garden, with its own beach under the pine trees.
Almost all rooms have beautiful views, especially the restaurant where they serve good breakfast and dinners.
We stayed in the basic room which was spacious, clean, lovely furbished, with large balcony looking over the bay and the city.
The hotel is 20mins of slow walk to the city and The Love bay beach on the other side.
The staff is very kind and efficient.
Thins that they should improve: only one TV channel was in English, very bad (actually non-existent) wifi in the rooms and west-European (but not Greek) menu for lunch and dinner.
Tip: go to the laste tavern just before the bridge that leads to the city.

This hotel has the perfect location, overlooking the beautiful town of Poros across the busy, picturesque harbour. This hotel has excellent staff, especially the super smiley lady on breakfast with the short blonde hair, but during busy times, it did feel understaffed but the quality of service remained high. The restaurant is good, similarly priced to local restaurants which is unusual and a good selection of local wines. The pool is, oddly, locked until 11 but then is peaceful and well kept and the small private beach has a good beach bar. The room was not as the photos promised but was clean, well kept and ideal for our needs. The towels need replacing and overall, a bit of a revamp. There is a shuttle boat between the hotel and Poros but it ceased on 31st August however taxis are cheap and plentiful. Overall, rooms need a bit of attention to detail but the staff are enthusiastic, friendly and helpful and the balcony bar/restaurant just perfect!

Well this hotel could be perfect if:
- The breakfast served was in line with the room price charged. Basic breakfast without any variation. One day they even ran out of croissants! Very limited fruits of low quality. We went to the town and for 5 Euros bought delicious fruits for one week! It's a pity that they do not bother.
- The room was of better quality. The chair in the room was stained/filthy as was the bed cover that was removed immediately, the bed was made of two single beds pushed together with very soft/uncomfortable matresses. Old TV (not flat!!) with limited channels. Smelly air conditioning unit... Not as shown on the website.
- Adequate staff. The hotel is understaffed with junior personell. They are friendly and trying to help, but they lack the skills. At peak times not sufficient to serve the guests.
- Limited parking space for the cars.
If they fix these problems, they can take advantage of the amazing location and the views that this hotel offers. Also very good job done at the private beach. There are always available sunbeds and the staff is very good at politely explaining to visitors that the sunbeds are for hotel residents only.
Overall it is not worth the price charged (average of over 160 Euros/night). If you can get a good discount it could be a good choice.
