We got a nice rate here on Booking.com. It was very quiet and convenient to the harbor. Nice breakfast was included in the garden area..very nice. The manager/owner will do most anything to help you. Good AC.

I booked this hotel 3 months in advance including the ferries needed to get to and from other Greek islands and two days before our arrival they emailed and told me they had double booked.
No apology, no offer to help with other accommodation or even help with the expenses they now caused us.
I cannot comment on the hotel as I never got to see it.
A real dissapointmt in an otherwise excellent holiday touring the Greek islands.
A caution for other travellers to be wary of this place, their customer service is non existent.

My wife, after much research, booked Saturday and Sunday night for us in a premium suite with a sea view terrace, of course at a premium price. We checked in on time Saturday at 1500 and were told by the manager Popi that unfortunately the electricity was out in our room and would not be fixed until 10am on Sunday. Furthermore, she said that the water in the only other premium suite was not functioning and also would also not be fixed until Sunday morning. I suppose handymen there work all night on Saturday, which would be quite unusual to say the least. She showed us to a tiny cave like room in the basement and said that it would cost about half as much. Since it had no refrigerator, Popi graciously offered us use of a small fridge in the kitchen in the workers' rather nice old-style Greek sprawling space next to our cave. On Sunday, a bit after Noon, the checkout time, she said our originally reserved room was ready. It was magnificent, as we had expected. However, by then our experience of the hotel had been tainted. When we checked out, Popi finally admitted, after I pointed out to her that all the systems in the hotel were in excellent condition and her story was just not believable, that our room had been given to a client who returns regularly. When I asked for consideration for our diminished experience, she deducted 15% from our bill, which was an appropriate gesture, but did not compensate for what should have been a great weekend in Hydra. Other than the hotel, we had a great time in Hydra and would go back there again sometime. So, if you go to the Miranda and reserve a a premium suite it might be wise to check with Popi a day or two in advance that it is still available for you and not some other more favored guest.

We chose the two best rooms (2 and 3). These are spacious with ornate painted ceilings and polished dark wood floors and furniture. They have adjoining large balconies with great views of the town, hillside down to the sea. The hotel is probably10 minutes walk from the port . We are not young but we did not need the services of the many donkeys waiting to help when you arrive !

The owner is a charming lady who has had many distinguished guests stay over the years and has produced a book with the history of friends who have stayed. She gave us excellent recommendations for tavernas to visit serving traditional homely Greek food.

Our bedroom was quiet and we were only roused by the very loud chimes at 7 am from the nearby church . Followed by jubilant bells! Breakfast was substantial . Exceptionally good bread and home made marmalade, yoghurt, and a choice of eggs . We chose fried eggs but very tasty omelettes with feta cheese turned up instead! And home made slices of cake. A pity to be given orange squash sinew asked for water and Greek coffee .

The bathroom is modest with only a handheld shower which you can't stand under and nowhere to hang the face towels or any clothes. The bed was reasonably comfortable but not very wide. Perhaps 135 cms. It's altogether quite simple wherein lies it's charm. Our curtain rail fell down when we drew one of the curtains but was quickly mended while we ate breakfast.
