This hotel is very tired and in need of some updates. The carpet was so old and dirty we kept our shoes on during our entire stay. The bed was also really hard. The beds in Greece are almost always hard but these ones were so hard we kept waking up because we were in pain from it. Lastly, we asked for a non smoking room but the air being pumped into the room must have been directly linked with a smoking room because our room filled with smoke a few times.

Very nice hotel, we had a comfortable stay here. Very nice roof top terrace with great views. Breakfast was just as you would expect, with the usual food on offer. The staff were very nice.
The only down side was the room had no kettle or coffee making facilities, a bit of a deal breaker for me, but if that doesn't worry you, then don't let it put you off.
We found the hotel not hard to find but driving to it very difficult. This could be down to translating sat nav and unfamiliar streets.
All in all a very nice visit.

Thanks for having a good room for me! If somebody wants to stay here - include breakfast, it’s good enough with so great and breathtaking view! Talking about what I didn’t like... the chairs in the room... so old and uncomfortable... sorry to say that.

Greece is great value at the moment and this hotel is a perfect example. A very spacious double room cost less than €50 per night. An equivalent room in Dublin would easily fetch €200. Patras is a working city and might not be what travelers to Greece are looking for but the city has a gritty charm and nice quaint one-route railway line which goes to some of the city beaches. At the other end of the line is Saint Andrews Church which is a magnificent building and claims to be the biggest Orthodox church in the Balkans.
The Patras Palace Hotel is practically next door to the national bus station and a short taxi ride to the main ferry port. It's front facing rooms have a panoramic view of the harbour area and one can breakfast or have a nightcap on a beautiful verandah overlooking the ocean.

Room tip: Front-facing rooms on higher floors have great sea views.

This is a nice hotel if you are travelling for business in Patra or to discover the city. It is in the centre, in front of the sea and has nicely decorated, spacious rooms. I especially liked breakfast in the top floor restaurant ovelooking the port. My only comment is that the breakfast should be warmer (the eggs and sausages were barely lukewarm). The variety offered is good. Overall an excellent option for short term stay. If you prefer more quiet rooms , ask for a room at the back

Room tip: For best view, choose sea view but rooms at the back are quieter
