Greece is great value at the moment and this hotel is a perfect example. A very spacious double room cost less than €50 per night. An equivalent room in Dublin would easily fetch €200. Patras is a working city and might not be what travelers to Greece are looking for but the city has a gritty charm and nice quaint one-route railway line which goes to some of the city beaches. At the other end of the line is Saint Andrews Church which is a magnificent building and claims to be the biggest Orthodox church in the Balkans.
The Patras Palace Hotel is practically next door to the national bus station and a short taxi ride to the main ferry port. It's front facing rooms have a panoramic view of the harbour area and one can breakfast or have a nightcap on a beautiful verandah overlooking the ocean.

Room tip: Front-facing rooms on higher floors have great sea views.

This is a nice hotel if you are travelling for business in Patra or to discover the city. It is in the centre, in front of the sea and has nicely decorated, spacious rooms. I especially liked breakfast in the top floor restaurant ovelooking the port. My only comment is that the breakfast should be warmer (the eggs and sausages were barely lukewarm). The variety offered is good. Overall an excellent option for short term stay. If you prefer more quiet rooms , ask for a room at the back

Room tip: For best view, choose sea view but rooms at the back are quieter

This is a nice hotel very near the harbor and KTEL bus station so it's ideal if you are continuing your trip via bus or boat. The service was ok (they were very helpful). The room was ok - maybe not worth 4 stars. We asked for a quiet room and we got one on the side of the hotel so there was no noise coming from the harbour. However, there was some noise coming from the outside (probably the air conditioning system) so we needed to close the balcony door. Also, there was no dental kit (toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.) provided originally but we asked for it and they gave us the kits. All in all, not bad at all but not a luxury option.

Room tip: Rooms with mountain view are quieter but there is some noise coming from the air conditioning outside so you need to close the windows.

Got there a few times on business trip. Big, spacious rooms, view to the old port, nice though. Car park available for 9€. Breakfast on 6th floor but very poor. Wi fi is fake. Though I would recommend it for a business traveler.

Room tip: Ask for a front sea room. Upper floor

Patras Palace Hotel is placed centrally very close to the main bus station and the railway station. It lies on the harbour front and the view from the breakfast restaurant on the 6th floor is stunning. The room had an adequate size with a nice bathroom and a well-functioning air-condition.
