I went there twice and tried three different soups (we shared). Best soups I ever had! Good prices, too.

An self-respecting night-life culture has a hardcore food ritual to go with it, Thessaloniki stays up late, especially if you want to hear some rebetika. Patsas, a soup of hoof, tripe, and belly, coats the stomach to protect it from alcohol. It's an aquired taste, and i have not acquired it.Happily Tsarouchas has a full menu, other soups, and creme carramele. come for the atmosphere. Nice service, great mood, and a classic since the 1950's.

We could see the food in the window and my eyes were bigger than my stomach! Soup and Moussaka and chicken --all delicious. A Very friendly waiter took us on tour of the menu and the window. Co.fort food enjoyed outside, cafe-style. Tripe soup.is what they are famous for - but had chicken soup as well as pasta and lemon soup. Close to the Roman ruins and kind of on the way to St. Dimitri Basilica.
