We stayed here again (our sixth visit) and hope to be back in 2013. Yes it is basic but the location is perfect.. The beds are comfortable and changed every five days or so. With only"2 rings on the hob Yes you couldn't cook a full meal but with such superb restaurants ten minutes away why eat in? Can thoroughly reccomend Vaggis. We bought a camping toaster from Wilkos before our trip which cooked breakfast adequatlely. Its a short stroll to an excellent beach which is ideal for children. The sand is great for castle construction and the water is gently shelving and crystal clear. Would reccomend a trip to the caves which are out of this world But be careful where you book if going by yourselves. We booked by the centre closest to Draganikos and were disgusted by the boat they allocated to us. Being used to boats we found them wanting with regards to UK safety standards Look before you book
A car is great to go round the island which is very diverse. We now tend to stay in the local areas and 'chill out'.

Room Tip: We found the rooms downstairs are cooler at night.

Greek accommodation cannot be compared to other parts of Europe - once you get pass this, you will see that Draganikos is typical of what you get in Greece. The accommodation is in a perfect location - 2 minute walk to the beach and just over 5 minutes to the main road with the bars, etc. The apartments provide everything you need for your holiday. Take a travel kettle and hair dryer as these are not provided. Rooms are cleaned everyday except for Sunday, with bedding and towels changed once per week. The owners speak basic English and will deal with any issues that may arise with your accommodation. No air conditioning, but you can hire fans for 10 euros per week, along with a safe deposit box for 15 euros per week. Would definitely stay there again when I return to Alykanas.

Room Tip: First floor so you can sleep with the doors open, Ground floor - corner apartment to get the sea breeze

stayed for 2 weeks, it was so quiet and relaxing (not many kids about) very basic but very clean, no pool but beach is 2min walk turn left at main gate, we used the pool at the mill bar during the day, had lunch there most days would recomend mill club sandwich (yum). turn right at main gate and the first taverna you come to is a new family run resturant "En Elladi" owned by the local priest yannis, his wife is the cook and the food is piping hot, fresh and very very good we were there some nights for 3 hrs relaxing and enjoying the food and drink i would suggest trying ozuo and fresh orange after your meal and try the sea bream so fresh the fish fell of the bone, i am not a meat eater but i did have a lamb dish and a beef steffadio delish!!. we would go back to alykanas any time the people are so friendly and the place is so relaxing its hard to put it into words, we went a walk into alakas during the day had a coffee at a little cafe on the bridge with a greek owner that was very funny! i would recomend a holiday here if you feel the need to relax and unwind

Room Tip: we were in room 8 had the sun all morning

Stayed here for 1 week on 20th May. Location is perfect.. a 2 minute stroll to the beach on the left and a 10 min stroll to the main strip on the right, which consists of a couple of supermarkets, several restaurants and a few bars. The apartments are basic but have everything you need apart from aircon and a kettle and toaster ( the main 3 in my opinion ). We do not self cater we eat out so it would be a challenge if you intend to cook!!!!, but eh we're on holiday sample the local cuisine !. There is a fridge in the room at no extra cost and you are provided with mugs which is rare, if you like a morning cuppa take your own kettle. There is a 2 ring hob as well. Bathroom is basic and the floor does get drenched but eh this is greece, mop it up , laugh and don't get stressed about it. We were on the ground floor with a side sea view, well if the farmer down the road didn't keep his trees at a decent level you would not get a sea view !!. There is no reception area and the couple who own it are always about they are very quiet and polite and although their English is very limited they are very helpful. The Alykanas area is so chilled out, We walked to the next town of Alykes,, on the beach although you do have to come off and walk over the bridge, it is a lovely walk with plenty of beach tavernas on the way, only about 20 minutes. The Greek people are so friendly, you are not hassled to go into their restaurants. Sun beds were charging between 5 and 7 euro's for 2 with table and a parasol , I expect this will rise as the season picks up. All in all a lovely chilled out resort, hoping to go back next year but will look for a different hotel. Happy holidays

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the second floor for spectacular views of the surrounding area

Stayed at these studios for a week. They are budget no frills accommodation. Cheap and Cheerful. Nice grounds. Great location for the beach and town. No pool but that doesn't really matter as you can use the pools at the Hotel Valais which is 2 minutes towards the beach or The Mill which is 3 minutes same way. Peaceful and good value for money. Would stay here again.
