“La Grotta Bar and snorkeling”
Review of Grotto Boat Tour

Grotto Boat Tour
Reviewed 17 June 2012

This is the place to go snorkeling quite a lot of fish and small squid in this cove. The dive of around fifteen meters of the rocky ledge is a must for those in need of excitement. I don't mean the one with the rope i mean the big rock out in the bay. The bar plays nice techno music and the coffee is good. There are sun loungers but only a few as the Grotta is small and there isn't much room for sun loungers.
It is one of the nicest places to sit in the evening and enjoy the cool after a hot day. Boats will run you from here to the harbor and to the Poseidon beach plus you can rent boats here.
Be warned there is a lot of steps to negotiate from the main road down to the Grotta.

It was a cloudy day when we were at paleokastritsa, but this boat tour was still amazing. I believe the tour costs 12 euro now, but we were in a small boat by ourselves and had a great guide, so it was well worth it. I can only imagine how amazing the colors of the water are when the sun is shining, but we could see its potential even with the clouds. Beautiful area! Very enjoyable ride, and it was easy to get a taxi to paleokastritsa and have them wait while we did the grotto boat tour.

I was in Corfu 2 years ago and must confess I was highly impressed by the grotto tour. The tour starts from Paleokastritsa regularly. You are driven to the grottos on a small boat for 10 EUR. As far as I remember we visited 4 grottos and 2 of them were just fantastic. The 1st one has the seabed of pink color because of pink stones. The other one is called The Blue Eye because of the huge light blue spot in the dark waters of the grotto. The spot is glowing magnificently as if someone has lighted a huge electric torch at the bottom. Besides, on the way back to Paleokastritsa we were allowed to dive into the crystal sea waters near grottos. When I'm in Corfu I will definetely take the tour again.
